NBA.com crashes regularly (dead bird screen)
-
I'm using macOS Catalina and Vivaldi 3.2.1967.47. Yes, I have tried disabling my extensions.
Just leaving the site open for a few minutes should reproduce the issue.
-
What version of macOS 10.15? (update with the supplemental 10.15.6 update (the 2nd release of the 10.15.6 update that was also over a 2GB update)
Are you on any particular part of the site when you are idle when you get the dead bird? I do notice that some videos are auto playing with audio muted and some are not.
Try holding shift and reload the page (force a loading of the page that is not from cache)
-
10.15.4. Don't have space for additional huge updates right now.
No particular part. Just the main page.
I've used Delete Browsing Data which I assume does the same thing, but I can try shift reload as well.

@alexander-koll If you go into Console.app, display All Messages and search for Vivaldi, do you see any crash logs? If so, could you please report the tab crash by creating a bug report and submitting the crash logs? The procedure to do this can be found here: https://help.vivaldi.com/article/reporting-crashes-on-macos/
If the internal testers cannot reproduce the issue, they may follow up with you and ask for additional information.
Could you also try to reproduce the tab crash in a Guest Window? If the crash does not reproduce there, it's possible that something about your setup (or a corrupted profile) is contributing to the crash.
Thanks!

Of course. I'll do that and get back to you asap.

Directly after the dead bird I opened Console.app and searched for vivaldi. There were quite a few yellow dots around the time of the crash. Are all those considered crash logs?
If I open terminal and paste the command in the link I get "zip error: Nothing to do!".
-
On the left side there is a crash reports and the report might be in there.
-
No crash report but a lot of messages saying:
"rejecting read of { kCFPreferencesAnyApplication, myusername, kCFPreferencesAnyHost, no container, managed: 0 } from process 94777 (Vivaldi Helper (GPU)) because accessing preferences outside an application's container requires user-preference-read or file-read-data sandbox access" -
Vivaldi 3.3 came out today does it still crash after the update?
-
Seems to work now!
