Easier URL cropping – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1967.30
-
@LonM Yes. So it seems Vivaldi’s site only stopped showing it, okay, thanks.
-
@potmeklecbohdan Yeah, same for me. But unsure for how long, since I never closed it by clicking again.
And you are right, the text can't be brought back easily but I don’t deem this specific aspect very important. To me it just shows that Vivaldi is following suit. Personally I don’t think any of this will make browsing “safer”.

[Pop-out video][macOS][Linux] Slider and mute button on PiP window are unclickable (VB-69378)
This remains pretty unusable for me. I cannot discern any reliable improvement of these PiP controls in this Snapshot. It continues to happen that when i try to use the controls they don't interact with my pointer, OR, if they do once then later they ignore it. Example - to my surprise 45' ago the mute worked, but unmuting it was simply impossible. Last night the PiP Play/Pause controls were similarly unreliable.

A weekend snapshot
44thvivaldi://flags/#metal Set flag to enable and then restart does not set the flag to enabled just reverts back to default (confirmed it failed to set by looking at vivaldi://gpu), this is a macOS only flag

Seconding the idea of keyboard navigation. Even a simple "directory up" command would be nice - old Opera had that.
-
URL cropping seems like a super simple and yet super cool idea. Hope it gets tied with a command so that it can be assigned to a keyboard shortcut/gesture.
A possible bug I saw - clicking the trash (closed tabs) instantly crashes the browser for me. Right clicking it seems to show the usual menu and works normally, but left clicking results in an instant crash. Is it known? Can anyone else reproduce it?

No such problem here. Try in a new profile or private window. Ctrl+Click the trash will reopen the last closed tab. Click will just show the list.
-
@pesala: Actually somehow the problem resolved by itself, I can no longer reproduce it. Not sure what it was.
-
any predictions for panel focus updates?
-
Could you update the AUR please?
Thank you
-
@keithy They have nothing to do with the AUR package.
-
@gwen-dragon: Thanks, I'd always assumed it was Ruari as package maintainer is listed as: BlackIkeEagle (ruario)

For the people who just want to
pacman -Syu
:You can install it from my repo: https://repo.herecura.eu
Just a FYI.
-
@gwen-dragon: Thing is, I actually am a backup maintainer (which is why my name is listed) so in theory I can do it but I have never yet used these powers. If BlackIkeEagle goes AWOL for a long time I would but I would prefer not. So best to poke him first.

Ike could very likely be on vacation, it's the end of July after all, just let the poor guy enjoy his free time , he always updates the repo within 2 hours max, it's not that he has forgotten it
I would like to see Vivaldi being "promoted" to Arch's community repo and Manjaro's official repos though, it isn't there due to licencing issues I'd assume, but isn't it time to make steps in that direction already? -
The address bar will hide the port now, even with the option "Show Full Address" on.
The port is only visible when focusing the bar.How can i turn this off?
This makes the browser almost unusable to me, 'cause i can't see any longer which software version i am currently using.
Running different versions on different ports simultaneously is my every day usecase.
In my opinion hiding anything in the url is a no-go for developers and powerusers. -
@gwen-dragon: Thank you!
