Snapshot 1.0.201.2 Improvements to Search Engine Management, Spatial Navigation, Gray look and the f
-
Hi, The highlights today are improvements to search engine management, spatial navigation, an alternative UI look and work in progress towards customisable mouse gestures. In addition, there are a number of nice, requested fixes (see the changelog below for details). Go here for details: https://vivaldi.net/en-US/blogs/teamblog/item/33-snapshot-1-0-201-2-search-engines-spatial-navigation-gray-look-customisable-mouse-gestures Regards, Christian Dysthe - Vivaldi Technologies

Previously, we used to just disable the tab color, and replace it with a very dark gray. It gave a very contrasty look, which was perhaps a bit too much.
Nope, I like this a very contrasty look!
Don't like new gray UI, maybe dark theme in the next build? :woohoo: -
Options are good. It should, indeed, be selectable.
On the other hand, I complained multiple times about the all-black ultra-contrasty look. I much prefer this one. I would like it even more if the panel were a matching color with the top bar.
Hell, I could even go with the colored tabs if they weren't so damned saturated and vibrant. Some pastels would be nice.
-
We'll let you choose between light and dark theme soon.
-
I just copied common.css to restore "No space above the tabs" and the colour scheme was restored.
However, that also made a mess of the Settings dialogue, so I had to reinstall.
The mouse gesture GUI is innovative. Looking forward to being able to change gestures just by gesturing over the animation.

Why not provide a color picker?

Lignt and Dark? How about Twilight? Have fun!
Seriously, I really enjoy the vibrantly-colored tabs and toolbars that are associated with the webpage.
Curiously, though, I notice that if I'm on a webpage that has a color associated with it and then load a webpage in the same tab that has no color associated with it, the tab and toolbar still displays that same color from the previous webpage. If I open that same new webpage in a new tab, it displays the webpage with the generic gray-colored tab and toolbar(s).
Try for instance opening the www.Vivaldi.com page which displays in red, then open a page like www.drudgereport.com (which has no color association). If www.drudgereport.com is opened in the same tab, red remains as the displayed color. If www.drudgereport.com is opened in a new tab, it displays in grey color.

Hi folks, first post, love what you're doing.
The last couple of updates I've noticed Settings are only showing (and working fine) once.
If I click off the only way to bring them back is a restart.

Using 1.0.201.2Could you specify your platform? A couple of other people have mentioned this problem (though almost no one else has seen it) so what type of system and OS you are on might help the developers clean this up.

Windows 7 Professional 64-bit SP1
Standalone install. -
I see. Are you using the 32-bit or the 64-bit version? They are different, and the 64-bit version is somewhat less-developed.
-
32-bit version.
-
OK, thanks. I'll turn on my W7 test beds (X86 and X64) and see if I can duplicate, and let you and the devs know what I find.
-
Good Job.
But still i can't create new album on facebook.
I still miss the option to hide the big add ( + ) button from the speed dial. -

Using 1.0.201.2Okay. So I tried this on W7 32-bit and on W7 64-bit, and I cannot replicate your problem. Hopefully the developers will be able to suss something out, but it certainly would have been easier if it were platform-wide. As it stands, you seem to be a member of a pretty exclusive club, which unfortunately may mean that the problem will get fixed as a side-effect of some other change, rather than because devs were able to pinpoint it and rub it out.
-
Thanks. Really no big problem, tis to be expected at this stage..
I've tried clearing cache, disabling extensions (Adblock/Wot) and various settingsβ¦no dice,
I guess the next step will be a 'full' install rather than the current 'standalone'...@Not sure if this is relevant but in the Debug file I found this..

I have this problem also (unable to re-open settings after closing). Using Windows XP 32 bit.

After this auto-update, I am no longer able to add new items to the Speed Dial.
Symptoms: I hit the big Plus sign to add a new site to the speed dial. The entry screen slides up from the bottom. The "Add Bookmark" text box says 'Undefined'. No matter what I do, I cannot type anything in that text box, it keeps saying 'Undefined'.
Windows 7 64 bit.

Known bug. Pretty sure they said it's fixed internally.
-
Yes, already fixed
