My old problem with the Vivaldi
-
Since a bit after the first builds, The Vivaldi browser here is crashing always. When I start, it takes some minutes and the first crash. After, I cant restart because it crashes before the browser restarts really. I have a "vivaldi profile" with some notes, history, bookmarks... but I note the same problem when I am with the standalone version (this one i just use to see the new features, so no added bookmarks/speed dial/note, it is just for quick tests. Any tips to resolve it? I use WIN 7 64 BITS and I download Vivaldi 64 bits

Will Vivaldi start and stay running long enough to clear the browser data?

I always deleted my profiles at each TP release. And this helped me with the zombie processes between TP1 and TP2.

@3Phase unfortunately i "cleared" my both Vivaldis (standalone and normal version) as you said but both crashes still.

I followed again the tip of An_dz and I got it! And I found the possible problem: the "Top Sites" file. It was big so I deleted it. I hope i don't have that problem again.
Thank you both, guys!

No need to do that.
Just go to your profile and delete current/last session and current/last tabs

topsites can be safely deleted. It stores all the thumbnails.
After doing it your SD will be blank, and must be refreshed

I know there's no need but I prefer to have a clean profile so I force myself to re-use the preferences, this way I can double check them. Vivaldi is not my main browser so I don't care if I need to reinstall 4 extensions and copy my bookmarks file.

I'm glad you got it fixed ozoratsubasa!
I use "clearBrowserData" all the time, then close and reopen the browser instead of deleting the User data and folders. It's kind of unusual that the TopSites file wasn't pared down to a few KB and you had to be delete it manually but as long as you got it running that's great!

Now that Vivaldi has most of the old Opera team maybe it can finally make a decent browser that don't crash and even installs (Wins 8.1 64bit hasn't installed for me in the past three versions). I adore Opera because it works so perfectly for me except right now the Developer doesn't load up Russia Today as it seems to prefer US Propaganda Zionist Fox News which is most unfortunate for us intellectuals. Lets hope this Opera team at Vivaldi brings the amazing optimizations of the Opera browser to Vivaldi but until then I'm Opera all the way and again there is no browser to touch it for workload. I want Vivaldi to match it or improve on it so hurry on and get cracking. The last time I tried to view the dailymail website on Vivaldi (32bit) it drawed up about as fast as a game of elite on a ZX spectrum.
