Feature request: more powerful "paste and go"
-
Hi there, While waiting for the usual Paste-and-Go item in the address-bar context menu to be implemented, I'd like to ask the Vivaldi team to make the feature a bit more powerful. What about allowing for the "Paste-and-Go" feature available in the context menu everywhere? If you do Paste-and-Go in the empty space of the tab bar, Vivaldi would open a new tab and take the user to the URL pasted. If you do Paste-and-Go in the main window area, that tab would be replaced with the pasted URL. On any browser, one of the little annoyances is that you need two to three steps to go to the URL you are pasting: 1) open a new tab by clicking on the new tab button; 2) move your mouse cursor over to the address bar and paste the URL; 3) hit the Return (Enter) key. (I'm aware that some browsers offer shortcuts for this kind of things. But basically you need at least two sets of workflows for the same things; one set for the mouse-only mode and the other for the keyboard-only mode.) Regards, Ryo

That's a good suggestion.
I was getting used to first create a new tab and then to paste-and-go but a fast way to "past-and-go-in-new-tab/window" would be great especially when selecting a non-click-able URL on a page. -

That's mainly 1) because I have to deal with URLs written in PDF files, where hyperlinking isn't all that common, and 2) because I always have to use two browsers (because I use two Google accounts in parallel) and copy URLs mainly from the other browser onto Vivaldi. (Well, if the other browser has a menu item "Open URL with . . .", then copying wouldn't be necessary but the only browser which I know has that feature is Opera 12.x .)

Quickest way possible so far: Press Ctrl+T, press Ctrl+Shift+V. Yon can keep Ctrl pressed between shortcuts, so that's pretty instant.

Yes surely P&G needs improvements, starting from it's absence from search box and other input fields.

Maybe solution similar to Maxthon's - right click on +(new tab) to paste and go in new tab,

Yes! and paste-and-go not only on the "+" button but also on the empty space in the tab bar (as I suggested in my original posting).

What about to P&G for any form then?
For example, it would be great to paste text and submit search form via 1 aciton on any page
