Upgrade from 2.10 to 2.11 gives uniform yellow root window {LTSP5 setup, a thin client}
-
Hello,
I have just upgraded from Vivaldi 2.10 to 2.11. However, when launching the vivaldi window is just a uniform yellow colour with no UI visible.
Any ideas what might be going on or how to debug it?
Thanks.

@Gwen-Dragon Thanks. Just the same with --disable-gpu.
-
When starting vivaldi in a terminal, I see the following error:
[17629:17629:0225/152223.378504:ERROR:edid_parser.cc(102)] Too short EDID data: manufacturer id
Is it relevant/significant?

@Gwen-Dragon said in Upgrade from 2.10 to 2.11 gives uniform yellow root window:
vivaldi --user-data-dir="/tmp/ZZZ"
Yes, still the same.
I am using pretty old hardware: LTSP5 setup with a thin client and. The monitor is just SVGA. No GPU.

@LeePen Seems display profile can not be read.
But i hope that affects only if you use colord for color profile.I do have colord running.
Any workaround?

It was working in 2.10.
What has changed?

OK, thanks.
Bug submitted.

@Gwen-Dragon Thanks.
I have just replied to the issue adding more information and a screenshot.

I have found a very hacky work around:
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=949440#10
So it appears that MIT-SHM is broken.
-
Or even better, and certainly simpler, the following works for me:
Just use --no-xshm on the command line
-
The second.
vivaldi --no-xshm
