BUG: Graphics corruption in OpenSuSE 13.2 64bit
-
Long time Opera fan here - but sorry that my first post on the Vivaldi forums is a bug report! I was using TP1 without any issues on OpenSuSE 13.2 64bit for a few weeks. Unfortunately when I upgraded to 1.0.162.4 (TP2?) I started to suffer from graphics corruption that renders the browser unusable. The same behaviour has persisted today after I upgraded to 1.0.162.9 (TP3). Chunks of the browser shift around at random like someone's shuffling all the pieces of a jigsaw. Highlighting a paragraph of text (or pressing Ctrl+A) on the webpage being viewed usually clears the problem briefly, but scrolling down the page is sure to bring it back. Ctrl+A will then clear the problem again but.... you get the idea. Using the browser is a constant fight against the graphical corruption and it's not limited to the webpage itself. The tab bar, address bar etc are all affected too. I have attached a png image to illustrate the problem. Is there any more information I can provide in order to help solve this? Looks like graphics driver incompatibility. Have you tried disabling GPU rendering in the flags?

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction Ayespy - I wasn't aware of vivaldi://flags
I've been fiddling around with the flags that seem relevant to rendering for the last half hour and based on a little use, I appear to have fixed the problem, although not by disabling GPU rendering…
The two flags I have had to set to resolve the problem are:
Enable display list 2D canvas -> ENABLED
Enable GPU rasterization -> FORCE-ENABLED FOR ALL LAYERSAnd with a restart of vivaldi, the problem is gone.
If any devs are reading, I'm using an AMD A10-7800 CPU, openSuSE 13.2 with kernel 3.16.7-21-desktop and the FGLRX graphics card drivers (name: fglrx64_core_SUSE132, version: 14.501.1003-2).
