Assorted fixes – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1789.3
-
I'm still unable to use Amazon Music with Vivaldi, including this latest snapshot. Do any of you have a definitive answer as to how to get this working? I've tested with brand-new user profiles, no extensions, etc, cannot get it to work.
-
@potmeklecbohdan: Also didn't work the first time here. How weird. And a little scary that something so simple and obvious was apparently reported circa 2015 or early 2016 (look at the number on it!) but took until today to do. I reported it a mere three years ago. So maybe I can actually use the status bar now.
-
With 80 coming up fast, it's a little surprising to see another 79 at this stage. Is 80 being problematic?
-
@rseiler It's caused by the prefs (this is from the “official unofficial docs” you get automatically installed), I'm not really sure if the first part should look like that now (
off
should be deprecated) ( @Team_Vivaldi ) (and is it intended to be w/o description?)"status_bar": { "display": { "type": "enum", "enum_values": { "on": 0, "off": 1, "overlay": 2 }, "default": "on", "syncable": true }, "minimized": { "description": "Determines whether to hide or overlay Status Bar", "type": "enum", "enum_values": { "off": 0, "overlay": 1 }, "default": "off", "syncable": true } }

@ian-coog: I'm copying what I wrote as a remark in ver. 1784.3
"Try to log-in to - for example - disqus or facebook and see what happens. Vivaldi is opening a pop-up which has no toolbar (as opposed to what was happening with the previous version). How do you log-in with an external (and NOT Vivaldi's own) password manager, for example roboform? The button is in the main toolbar and not in the pop-up toolbar (which does not exist). You have to use copy and paste. You cannot use any other extension to control the pop-up, because there is no toolbar. This is the opposite of what was the case with the previous version. This kind of pop-up behavior is standard for Google Chrome but not with Opera and not with Vivaldi 2.10 RC 3"
And I also repeat
"Long ago Vivaldi's pop-ups were "rectangle dummies" like Google Chrome's but then from some point onward things changed and they behaved like "small windows" with a toolbar. That changed again for the worst from this version, we returned to the tool-less pop-ups. Opera was consistent throughout these years in using pop-ups with a toolbar, thus permitting the function of extensions within these pop-ups" -
[Linux] When exiting Vivaldi from full screen mode the browser is not maximized (VB-60504)
-
@ian-coog: Very happy to see it fixed so soon, was quite the annoyance, mostly for streaming stuff though.

изменения это конечно хорошо но неплохо бы вернуть загрузку сохраненных сессий.
а то сохраняет в туже папку а открывать не хочет показывает пустое окно как будто еще ничего не сохраняли. -

@rseiler: We just pushed it out a bit before, so that we can catch any reg from these, instead of having to wonder if it might be chr 80
-
@nutcracker: That's interesting. Did you file a bug ? If not, please do, I'll confirm it. It should be looked at, since it's a regression

The "chrome Settings"
chrome://settings
icon is no longer displayed if you add It to the web panel.
-
@temkem No such issue here. Try removing it and adding it again.
Specs: AMD A10-6800K, 8 Gb on Win 10 64-bit 1909 build 18363.535 • Snapshot 2.11.1789.3 (64-bit)
-
@Pesala The fact is that if you add "settings" to the web panel using the "+" icon on the sidebar, the icon is not displayed. If you right-click on the chrome://settings page and select "Add page to web panel" in the context menu, then the icon is displayed correctly.
Strange behavior.
Windows 7 x32

@temkem That method also works for me. It takes a second for the icon to appear.
-
Vivaldi 64 Bit, Win 10 latest 64
Two problems:
This snapshot I can't get audio to play on vivaldi https://twit.tv/shows/security-now/episodes/749?autostart=false FF plays fine.Also Vivaldi won't let me log on to this snaphot site but again FF works fine, maybe I have a setup wrong in Viv, since month in hospital I don't think as well sorry harder to keep up with constant chages.
Sorry if my fault, but problems for me neverless.
-
@gwen-dragon:
Youtube plays fine...so stll doesn't 1909 for me also. -
@gwen-dragon:
use this cookie forensic test FF had problems with first I was looking for more with Vivaldi and had none at all.

@cqoicebordel: This is NOT a bug, it's a type of pop-up behavior. Please, observe a Vivaldi (similar to Google Chrome pop-up) and an Opera pop-up

@nutcracker: If the toolbar with extensions is not present, it's a bug !
If you want it fixed, you have to file a bug for it.
