What I hate in Vivaldi so far
-
Now that I caught your attention, I don't hate anything about Vivaldi  I'm the biggest fan of Opera, till 12.x, and love the Vivaldi initiative, for I urge for a revival of the great Opera features. Obs.: My intention here is solely helping improving Vivaldi. Having said that, here are items, some probably inherited from Chromium, that I "hate" in Vivaldi so far: - I'm having trouble posting in Youtube. although i'm logged, when I click to comment, my picture turns into an anonymous figure and I can't post. - Lack of the option, in right-click, to search for a text selection with a specific configured search engine. Currently, it searches only with the default search engine - I can't select most text links easily, for my selection turns into a link drag, just like Chrome. (now I know how) - I can't turn java script off easily (now I know how) - Doesn't run WhatsApp Web - Open new Tab only at the end, not next to the current Tab Obs: it's likely that I just haven't learned how to fully use Vivaldi's features yet, but this post responses will help me and others figuring it out. I really hope this project goes the long way and, soon enough, we have Sessions and other great features from Opera, and new ones.

Your first post, so welcome!
You can enable/disable Javascript completely at vivaldi://chrome/settings/content > JavaScript (Allow all sites… or Do not allow any site...), or use Manage exceptions to set preferences on a per-site basis (similar to Olde Opera Site Preferences).
Extensions are not yet fully supported (especially if a button is needed on the Tool Bar for control), but they will be, and several extensions already work and can be managed from vivaldi://chrome/extensions. It's pretty much trial-and-error figuring out which will work and which won't, but I've noticed several WhatsApp requests/comments in the forum (try a search) and my best recollection is that you're correct about WhatsApp not working yet.
Sessions management is much requested, as are most other commonly prized Olde Opera features. The developers know this and Vivaldi is being designed to allow similar if not better features, customizability, etc.

It's is simple if you start dragging just above the linked text.

- Doesn't run WhatsApp Web
You should contact WhatsApp, it is their problem, not from Vivaldi. They are just checking the browser name to say if it's compatible or not rather than really checking if it works or not. This is the most amateur approach someone can possibly conceive.
I do not suffer since I use Telegram whose web app works even in Presto Opera.I can't select most text links easily,

Your comment is sound, yet, what I was used to do in a situation like this was to set Browser Identification to "Identify as…" and the problem was probably solved. I hope this feature will be available soon.

See this post for some links to User Agent Switchers for Chrome. I haven't yet had a chance to try them to see if they work in Vivaldi, but if you have the need and the time to get to it before I do, maybe you could report back whether any of them work in Vivaldi, and if they work for WhatsApp.

I do it too, but I always send a report too, because that's not how you create a website.

They work, I'm using one. Still I would prefer having the Custom User-agent like in opera:config. I find it much more useful for receiving tablet or mobile layout.

Oh, good! I'm glad to hear that. :woohoo: But I'm with you: I would also prefer customization to be available within Vivaldi (and I'm sure it will be at some point).
Which one are you using?

I'm using User-Agent Switcher from Opera catalogue. Maybe it's available in Chrome Store too.

Thanks. If you mean User-Agent Switcher by esolutionsnordicab for Opera, then based on the developer name, it looks like User-Agent Switcher in the Chrome Web Store may be by the same developer (https://www.esolutions.se).
It's good to know that one is working for you. I still haven't had an occasion to try any of them out on a problem site, but that one and the others I mentioned from the Chrome Web Store all seem to install in Vivaldi OK.

I've added User-Agent Switcher for Chrome, from Glenn Wilson, which I chose from a selection of 3, and it works fine as Mozzilla on web.whatsapp.com. Thanks for the tip.

You're welcome!
I'm glad that worked and glad you reported back to let us know. That one you chose was the first one in my list as it was the most recently updated and gave me the most favorable impression when I looked at them in the Chrome Web Store. And An_dz reported success above with the Opera version of the second one in my list, so I'm optimistic about that one as well, but I still haven't had an occasion to try any of them out myself.
I was a bit rushed when I first posted above, so I just provided a link to my other post. But I think this User Agent issue is likely to come up again and again, so I'm going to list those same 3 User Agent switcher extensions here again for future readers:

If you don't see the "Add to Chrome" button for any extensions in the Chrome Web Store, visit the store from the icon in the lower right corner of the vivaldi://apps page, and after that the button should be visible regardless of your path to the store in future visits.]
