Panel info window cant be removed anymore
-
So I am an avid Side panel user. I cant live without one.
Since one of the last updates the info window on the bottom of it must have been made permanent. I cant resize it anymore to a size where its pretty much nonexistent. I noticed this after I created a new folder in the bookmarks and suddenly it popped up in full size again and I couldnt size it down anymore. Even at the smallest size it blocks a huge chunk of the space on the panel, and I need that space.Since it was hidden for me for quite some time, even still directly after installing the new versions of Vivaldi and only popped up after creating a new folder, I am sure there must be a setting somewhere to get it hidden again. How can I achieve that?
Thank you. -
Hi and welcome. I'm not sure what you mean with "panel info window on the bottom" can you explain it a bit better? You can find info about web panels here, accessible via F1: https://help.vivaldi.com/article/web-panels/

Hey there,
I am talking about the window at the bottom of the side panel. It shows thumbnails of booksmarks, "Nickname" and "Description".
-
I think that's a bug. That little area (the editing box) is supposed to be re-sizable down to nothing - or at least it was. I didn't see anything backstage declaring that its minimum size would now be so tall. But all of my versions (Stable, Snapshot, internal test version) are that way now.

@Ayespy The same happens to the input box of Notes, here, where people write the post.
-
For a long time the notes pane was not collapsible, now it is, but like the other panes only by double-click or middle-click on the separator.
-
@Pesala Good one. The input box was moved to the bottom. is it normal, depends on the number of Notes?
-
@lamarca The input box has not been moved. All that has changed is that it no longer collapses to zero with drag. The maximum size is unchanged, and is not dependent on how many notes or folders you have.
-
@Pesala Just bellow the Trash can.
Can't complain about UI size:) -
@lamarca I see that.
-
@Ayespy On your Mint or windows?
-
@Pesala Awesome! Thank you!
-
@lamarca On Windows. I find both are collapsible with middle-click or double-click on the separator in Windows. I happen to have Mint open, so let me check there...
Same in Linux Mint.
Even as a tester, I am just discovering this.
-
@Ayespy Thanks for booting on your Mint:) It might be related to space. So, do I submit a bug?
Btw: I got back the input box by dragging -
@lamarca Apparently, the function has been changed on purpose, so I no longer think it's a bug. Since middle-click and double-click work to close the edit box, drag-to-close is no longer needed.
-
@Ayespy Agree. There are many possibilities.
The input box disappeared after collapsing the Notes. The only way to get it back is by dragging the separator.My input box.

@lamarca said in Panel info window cant be removed anymore:
The only way to get it back is by dragging the separator.
Double-click or middle-click should also expand the panel info window.
