Vivaldi 2.9 RC 1 – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1705.27
-
@Gwen-Dragon Thank you, reported as VB-59318
-
So, mail ready in 3.0?
-
@Gwen-Dragon Sorry Gwen i'd added below that i'd found a comment from you telling me that porting passwords from stable to snapshot was now unreliable. So a known issue, so many people were reporting missing passwords it seemed a big issue but if it will be resolved as soon as 2.9 stable is out and i can then get password use back from 2.8 stable without typing 200 passwords in again, i can carry on testing with my passwords saved locally.

Interesting ...
So, I only have the snapshot installed.
However, it is installed in the following path:
C:\Users\dm\AppData\Local\Vivaldi\Application\
I guess this is because I have a roaming profile and I installed V for me only, since this is a work computer.
Might this be the cause of the issue?

Still experiencing some delays in loading pages, i.e. after clicking on a Speed Dial entry, the browser stays on the same screen for a little bit and only then switches to a blank/loading screen. It might not affect overall speed in the end, but even if it doesn't, it's a perceived visual bug.

Scrolling in settings is still broken: VB-58726

I'm not sure what your question is. Standalone version will run correctly most anywhere. There is a long discussion of the failure to launch and a related?? problem (failure to load websites) at
https://support.google.com/chrome/thread/17555930?hl=en
along with several possible fixes for Chrome. I haven't finished it, nor have I tried any of the "fixes", but it's interesting reading. -
@cheekybuddha: Still the same problem here.
-
@mib2berlin I had this under several Linux distros, and I did fix it. I'd be curious about the reason for this.
-
I also wonder why Vivaldi recently pops up a window asking you to save a login password for a particular website?
-
@zoli62 Cookies are saved for websites when you log in. If you delete your cookie for that website, the dialogue will appear.

@christiehmalry:
If you have sync enabled, try this:- My installed version with passwords was Vivaldi.2.9.1675.11
- make backup "%LOCALAPPDATA%\Vivaldi"
- delete files
"%LOCALAPPDATA%\Vivaldi\User Data\Default\Login Data"
"%LOCALAPPDATA%\Vivaldi\User Data\Default\Login Data-journal" - install latest snapshot (64 or 32 bit)
- check passwords
It worked for me. Sync enabled is important.

When using 'delete browsing data' with everything checked but pwd's,
some cache storage and services workers remains.
But using chrome://settings/clearBrowserData method, it all gets cleared. -
Please, fix the Classic Style Menu bug.

The UI is not completed yet. Thanks for tip.
