My Feedback

Hi Guys, I am a minimalistic user. I am using Opera since 8 years until I moved to IE 11 . I have tried every browser made on the earth. Let me tell you why I moved to IE 11 I am running on Windows 8.1 with touch laptop. So my key requirement is SEAMLESS. Why people love Mac over Windows? SEAMLESS Why people prefer IPhone over Android? SEAMLESS It is SEAMLESS experience is what matters. One of the recent browsers I liked very much but ditched because it doesn't give me seamless zoom - Spark Browser. I really liked spark browser for its design. Simple, Clean, Fast (cached resources) However it has failed to deliver me zoom functionality. Why I Choose IE? - Seamless scrolling (What is the selling of point of safari on mac is seamless scroll) - None of the browsers gave the seamless scroll - Full screen browsing I want to browse to other tabs even in fullscreen. I don't understand why Opera/Chrome doesn't show addressbar, tabs when in full screen. IE & Chrome display addressbar, tabs if I move my cursor to top. -Touch browsing Needed touch based scroll, zoom -Guestures What is most lovely of safari on mac is guestures Even spark browser has guestures which can't be made on laptop. Right click + move left to go back to previous screen. LOL I want you to serious consider the guestures used in safari to come to Vivaldi. - Minimal space for address bar and tabs. Now all the devices are coming with 13.3 or below sizes. Chrome browser won because of least screen space taken for its address bar. Even on IE, I had to tweak some registry settings so that my IE is lean without boarders and padding. I wish you to remove window frames. What I expect from you is, consider taking only 3% of vertical screen space for tabs/url bar browsing the webpage via keyboard Guestures to zoom, browse forward/backward, Smooth scroll Extentions (Adblocker, Youtube downloader) I have just browsed though Vivaldi, I don't see any significant difference to opera. Please make Vivaldi what Safari means to Mac.

Hi there, welcome to Vivaldi.
One of the recent browsers I liked very much but ditched because it doesn't give me seamless zoom - Spark Browser. I really liked spark browser for its design. Simple, Clean, Fast (cached resources) However it has failed to deliver me zoom functionality.
Vivaldi has a zoom function, which can be used via hotkeys or the slider in the status bar.
I want to browse to other tabs even in fullscreen. I don't understand why Opera/Chrome doesn't show addressbar, tabs when in full screen. IE & Chrome display addressbar, tabs if I move my cursor to top.
That's already been discussed on the forums in another thread. I haven't heard anything about it being a planned feature for Vivaldi, but I agree it would be useful.

Even spark browser has guestures which can't be made on laptop. Right click + move left to go back to previous screen. LOL
I want you to serious consider the guestures used in safari to come to Vivaldi.Vivaldi already has mouse gestures, here's a thread where they're discussed a bit. Here's a website with some gestures from Opera that may or may not work in Vivaldi.
Smooth scroll
Extentions (Adblocker, Youtube downloader)I know that extensions is a planned feature, and I'm fairly sure smooth scrolling is too.

Based on how much you seem caught up on minimalism, I'm willing to bet Vivaldi isn't the best browser for you. I'd recommend sticking with Chrome or its variants if that's all you're looking for in a browser. Although, Vivaldi can be essentially as minimalist as you want it to be.
P.S. Judging from some of your remarks, I assume you're using the Tech Preview. If that's the case, try downloading the latest snapshot from the developers' blog and see if that catches up to any of your standards.

People want to use Vivaldi because it's advanced, not seamless.

After reading and re-reading upadisetty's thoughts about his initial use of Vivaldi and what he feels are its shortcomings for his needs, I certainly agree with all of the responses.
Vivaldi definitely does not appear to be the browser that can satisfy his requirements. Although eventually Vivaldi may have the ability to be as minimalistic as he is looking for, that does not seem to the aim of Jon and the Development Team.
Speaking for myself, I am looking forward to all of the choices possible. I want to be able to customize Vivaldi by adding and removing features to my heart's content. I was unable to find anything like that after the demise of Opera version 12.xx. Now I have hope that the choices will again be in favor of the user β ME.

How many simple, featureless browsers exist at present? Too many for me to even start counting; certainly enough for people to have their pick of banal. People are using V because it's going to be feature rich. I want features and options.

Hello, upadisetty. Your first post, so welcome!
β¦And a very thoughtful post!
If you're this interested, it might be worth reading the developers' overview of their goals (if you haven't already).
While I'm with most of the others here in terms of wanting a feature-rich and option-rich browser (like Olde Opera 12.x and earlier, only updated for today's websites), my impression is that you are primarily interested in a "minimalistic" appearance (rather than "minimalistic" features and options). Otherwise, most of the features you mentioned are already available (though not necessarily mature and polished) or planned.
And even though Vivaldi is already quite minimalistic in appearance (IMO), it can be made more so by customizing your Vivaldi common.css file (to achieve results similar to your registry tweaks for IE 11).
Anyway, if I'm reading you right, I would expect that Vivaldi's emphasis on feature and option customizability will also make a very minimalistic appearance even more easily and thoroughly achievable.
