“Create new tab” button not adjacent to top of the screen
-
In Chrome's maximized window, user can move mouse to the topmost line of pixels on the screen and still be able to click “+” button. In Vivaldi, he cannot, even when setting "Remove Tab Spacing in Maximized Windows" is on and Vivaldi's window is maximized. It is very important that he could, so it would not be required to aim vertically at “+” button. Currently it is far easier to open new tab in Chrome than in Vivaldi because of that.
Also it would be much better if clickable area of "+" button was larger horizontally (to put it simply, make "+" button bigger, maybe even rectangular, maybe even a third of the length of tab). The easier a user can create new tab - the better. Also, opening new tab when user middle-clicks on empty space to the right from tabs would be helpful as well.

@Gordolt
Hi, some user report this over the years but Vivaldi team does not change it or it is very low on there priority list, I guess it is by design.
I delete mouse gesture for "Stop loading" and use it for open new tab.
Right click and mouse up, it is even faster than move up to the top of your screen.
A feature request already exist to change the "design" but cant find it atm.Cheers, mib

@mib2berlin
Nice workaround, thank you.
But this design is clearly flawed, the issue still needs to be fixed. -
@Gordolt This! In fact, I'd go further and say that the space to the left of the button should be clickable too. That is, there should be no empty, un-clickable space between the last tab and the new tab button...

This seems to be fixed in the latest Snapshot.
Specs: AMD A10-6800K, 8 Gb on Win 10 64-bit 1903 build 18362.295 • Snapshot 2.8.1662.4 (64-bit)

@Pesala That'd be awesome, I'll give it a spin when it comes to stable (I use Vivaldi on my main machine, so can't take too many risks)
Thanks for the pointer!

@superphysics strange I see no problems with my Stable 2.7.1628.33, it seems to be working as you say, top & left of the button. But if somehow it isn't working for you just wait 2 weeks

It looks like the issue is caused by a Windows setting or version.

Yay! Working now - the space has auto-magically disappeared after the latest updates
