Can't see a list of who has voted...
-
After the recent forum update, we can no longer click on the number of votes on the first topic to see a list of who has voted. Please fix.
-
I never knew we could click on it. I always just hovered over it with the mouse.
-
@Gwen-Dragon after a certain amount of voters the tooltip just says "...and others", the list was complete on the clickable popup.
Letting us see just the first 5-6 voters and not the others has the same value as not letting us see the list at all. Admins have to choose to let us see either all or none. -
@Gwen-Dragon Formerly, we could see the most recent voters. Now, we can only see the first five voters.
Yes, it is sometimes useful to know who upvoted our posts. It is a quick way to acknowledge help given, without needing to add another post to the thread.
-
@Gwen-Dragon I've found it can be useful when pointing a user to another thread for help - if I see they've previously upvoted it, then there's no point in me telling them to look at that thread, because they've obviously already seen it.

Such list is only a list of very small icons and if there are many users without a avatar image you see nothing but one character. Is that useful for you?
You
cancould see the name when you hover over the image. -
@Gwen-Dragon I cannot test it now, but AFAIK it worked⦠and if not, it linked to the user's profile so you could see his name at least from the address.
-
@potmeklecbohdan I confirm. It was available. I used it in the past.
-
I found a hacky way to make the modal display a list of names using just a couple (22) lines of CSS, so I see no reason to remove the feature just because it's not functional.
I guess I can still see the drop-down because I'm a mod, but I think this should still be available to regular users, at the very least on their own posts.

That's exactly right. You could always just click to visit their profile, if they had no avatar.

You could also just hover over the profile icon and see the link that appeared in the status bar, giving you the name of the user with no avatar.

It would be nice to see this old issue fixed.
-
@Pesala The list was removed, because members could check downvotes, which were otherwise hidden. Now that downvoting has been removed, there is no obvious reason not to show the complete list of upvotes.
-
@luetage I tried to see if you could hack it back in, but the data is restricted and the forum will only send it to a moderator. I'm not entirely sure what keeping this data secret achieves, as everyone still get sent the 4 first upvotersβ¦
-
@LonM Hmm, you get notified of every upvote you receive, no matter how many there are, but notifications seem to be restricted to 1 week, after which they get removed. The popup over the indicator makes up to 6 votes visible, but with the 7th vote 5 are being shown beside a notice that there are more.
-
@luetage I've pinged internally for someone to have a look at this.
-

you get notified of every upvote
Unfortunately, those are merged as well when more than two users did upvote so, even with the notification, you remain blind on the details of it.
-
@Ornorm You are talking about the dropdown notifications, while the main point about this topic is bringing back the ability to open a list of all users who have upvoted a post by clicking the counter. This is what we are missing from earlier iterations. The notifications never changed, they behave the same like before and they disappear after a week anyway.
-
@luetage Yes, I know.
I could have misunderstood your messageHmm, you get notified of every upvote you receive, no matter how many there are
I thought you were saying that, because we get notified, it wasn't really worth it.
My mistake then. -
@Ornorm Look at my earlier post ^^
