Huge space cosumption by cache folders
-
Hi, First i would thanks the vivaldi tema for its impressive work !!! Vivaldi is my 'day-to-day' browser since the first amazing release and it never disapoint me since this day. I 've noticed that Vivaldi seems to not free its cache : my folders MediaCache & Cache weigh 1Go. I've not found a way to clear it. How can i do without deleting the 2 folders ? Thanks.

Thank you.

BTW you can delete the cache folders contents manually (with vivaldi closed) w/o any major drawback.

Thanks for the information.
I 've also found the vivaldi://history url with its 'clear browsing data' button. It's a pain to find all these hidden functionnalities.
Why not all the vivaldi://URLS are not listed somewhere ? In the help menu for example ? At least until the final release. -

Why not all the vivaldi://URLS are not listed somewhere ? In the help menu for example ? At least until the final release. Many of them are just the twins of the chrome pages meant for the same purpose, so just Google for them.
A few are Vivaldi specific. Say vivaldi://mail obviously doesn't have a chrome equivalent.

Try vivaldi://vivaldi-urls in the address bar.
(Doesn't seem to be working on my own v1.0.138.4 installation at the moment, but I also posted them in the forum here.)

It's actually vivaldi://chrome-urls

Wow, i could never imagine there are so much
Thanks a lot for sharing -

Yes, both addresses work, and vivaldi://chrome-urls is how it is listed on the Vivaldi URLs page, but vivaldi://chrome-urls forwards to vivaldi://vivaldi-urls in the address bar. …And both are now working fine on my installation again (with no Vivaldi restart or any other change AFAIK other than the passage of time).
I don't know precisely how to describe (and especially don't know how to reliably replicate), what seems to be a bug in each Vivaldi version I've tried so far, but perhaps several times per day (?) I simply get no response whatsoever to the Enter key after typing/pasting something in the address bar, most often when trying to use one of the Vivaldi URLs. (Now that I think about it, I guess that actually does describe it pretty well. :P) Sometimes I think it may be when I'm approaching the limit of open tabs for my rather modest Win7 machine, and a few time it has seemed that closing a few tabs maybe makes a difference, but I'm not sure. But this time I simply tried it again after seeing you post and it worked.
(Did I maybe see something about a known Enter key bug somewhere? …don't recall for sure)
-
Yes, both addresses work
Looks like the Vivaldi URLs starts working after one has typed the chrome cousin, at least once.

I noticed that behavior, unresponsive enter key on pasted URLs (or searches done trough the address bar) for any URLs not just the internals ones, with the latest build of Vivaldi
BTW I'm not in my usual condition. Right now I'm on win 8.1, not win 10, and I'm on Vivaldi 138.7, not 138.4 or earlier. And the problem looks gone.
Back to Vivaldi URL, when I typed it for the first time, I got a 404 error, not the unresponsive enter key behavior.

Yeah, I'm getting too tired to think straight now. I also got the 404 error this time (above), not the unresponsive Enter key. Then by the time I posted my reply I (mistakenly) recalled the unresponsive Enter key incidents.
And I also wondered, this time, whether entering vivaldi://chrome-urls once after your post somehow made vivaldi://vivaldi-urls work after that. But I'm certain the very first time I entered vivaldi://vivaldi-urls on v1.0.129.2 after first seeing it in the forum, it worked without my having ever seen, let alone used vivaldi://chrome-urls (I was brand new to Vivaldi at the time and remember noticing the discrepancy between vivaldi://chrome-urls in the list and vivaldi://vivaldi-urls in the address bar and the forum post where I learned of it. It stands out to me because seeing vivaldi://chrome-urls in the list was also when I first realized realized Vivaldi was chromium-based. :P)
On a separate note, I'm definitely seeing the loss of focus in the text box (that I think someone else in the forum mentioned earlier) every time I hit enter in v1.0.138.4 while typing these forum posts.
So how is it that you are on v1.0.138.7, not v1.0.138.4, when v1.0.138.4 was just released and is still the most recent posted release? Are you on the developer team or somehow getting early access to releases?
