Address field + Speed dial fixes - Vivaldi Browser Snapshot 1609.4
-
@mtaki14: May well be. There were some other rewrites lately.
-
@Pesala CSS mods can't mess with the settings/data which controls custom speed dial images and neither can it mess up the background, if you don't change it on purpose. Your issue is unrelated.
-
@luetage I downloaded and installed over my current install. No damage was done. All of my mods are still in effect, and my thumbnails (which I reselected) are still there.
Hopefully, this is a one-off bug.

You fixed it! You magnificent bastards, you finally fixed it!
It only looks like a fix. If you test it deeper, you will find even weirder behaviour.
-
Thank you for an awesome browser and great work towards improving it!
-
Thanks for fixing the address bar.
-
@Vort Well, I didn't say what they fixed
-
I found a bug, you can't change the URL of the bookmarks.
VB-55540 - The Bookmark URL can't be changed -

Vort had a good post in the last snapshot blog. Also, first.
-
After installing this snapshot, when I log into Outlook webmail (outlook.office.com) it keeps redirecting me back to the same page over and over until it errors out. I guess you could describe it as "stuck in a redirect loop".
-
@GT500 Did you try deleting all of your Outlook cookies?
-
@ayespy: Not yet, but I should probably do so whether it fixes the issue or not.
-
@ayespy: Looks like that resolved the issue.

Wow! That is really a bug.
You can try to hold mouse button for several seconds after it is pressed.
Can be tested with example.com. Point mouse cursor inside "o" character of "More information..." link, press button and hold it for several seconds.
It is hard to reproduce, but after several attempts I could select the "o" in "More" by clicking and holding the mouse without moving it. Zooming in 200% makes it a lot easier. Aim precisely at the top centre of the "o" or other glyphs. I was unable to reproduce this bug in Opera 62 or Firefox 68.
-
It still hangs on "Find in page"
You have to be really careful because searching of words is really tempting (despite being dangerous)... xD
-
VB-52712 problem is back in this release
-
Address bar should have bigger font, poor guy if on 4k screen.
-
@gwen-dragon: It's no bug, just saying that other browsers have bigger address bar and font, that's all.
I have full HD 21,5" screen and address bar looks rather small from 50cm away.
-
@iPristy Vivaldi will use DPI scaling if set in the OS.
Depending on screen-size/eyesight, someone running 4K will need to apply scaling or everything will be extremely small. At least 200% scaling would be recommended running any app on 4K on something like a 27" monitor, unless they like to have to squint and get headaches looking at their screen... it's not a Vivaldi specific problem.
Unless you can show that Vivaldi does not respect OS DPI scaling settings. Then it's a bug and you should report it.
