Regression fixes and more! - Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1606.4
-
@jacekn: it is terrible, and those issues not being fixed in this build are making me seriously consider moving away from snapshots for a while (even though i don't want to )
-
@araghunde Snapshots are for testing to iron out critical bugs like the one you are experiencing. If you need a stable browser consider using the final version with an extra profile. However I am confident that your input as a tester for the snapshot versions is invaluable to the developers.

Generally, I have not seen any bugs after this update so it is good. But as for me, the Android version of Vivaldi should be presented now because I don't want the situation from that year to get worse, where by mid-year we saw interviews with Mr. @JON where he says that this year will be Vivaldi Mobile and then suddenly it's quiet. It would be a nice gift if you released Vivaldi Mobile later this month, not a repeat from that year.

@MattSolo45 Hello there,
The post is about the latest Vivaldi Snapshot browser. Please stay on topic.
Thx
-
@Aronand The site info bug fix is golden, this one got me half a dozen times over the past two weeks…
-
@jacekn: Both of these are the ones I was looking forward to with this release...I suppose we're still waiting
-
Window panel only shows tabs from current window. Is this a known bug? If not, let me know and I'll report it. I think I first saw it in the previous snapshot.
-
Great. The site info bug is fixed.
-
@hlehyaric Sometimes I feel like we are the only macOS Vivaldi users : P
-
-
@hlehyaric Thanks. Yes, I'm still here... and always advocating on behalf of everyone in the Vivaldi Mac community.
-
@hlehyaric @luetage @xyzzy If you are the ones to pave the way for us Windows users, welcome!
-
Is there a debug version I can install temporarily that will generate a crash log when it locks up?
I can cause this bug to happen in under 2-3 minutes every single time.
-
@TheDragonReborn If you are on Windows, hit F1 and search for
crashes
. -
@killchain: Hey, I'm fairly certain this is intended behavior? Unless I'm misunderstanding the issue. Could be best to just create a bug, and post the VB number here, and I'll take a look at it tomorrow
-
@luetage: Glad to hear
-
@lamarca: all of the crash logs in there are from last year.
Vivaldi is obviously crashing before the crash logging system can even kick in.
I need a special debug version that will have a crash catching wrapper that runs before anything else and can catch any kind of crash.
Does such a version exist internally?
If someone wants to message me from vivaldi I will be happy to get a crash log of this bug in action.

@TheDragonReborn said in Regression fixes and more! - Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1606.4:

I re-read your post, sorry, Vivaldi doesn't generate file for lock up.

@TheDragonReborn
Hi, there was a Linux debug version some weeks ago but never heard about a Windows version. I use gdb (Gnu Debugger) sometimes for other software, Vivaldi does not crash for month for me. Is not any similar software for Windows?
It is not the same as a debug version to use a debugger with a regular Vivaldi version but may give a hint.Cheers, mib

@TheDragonReborn Could ProcDump of Sysinternals.com help in your case? I have never used it myself but maybe it could be of use here.
