Vivaldi 2.5 update broken proxy PAC support
-
At least PAC proxy configuration. It's not working since 2.5 update. All other browsers on my system (Chrome, Opera, Edge) are working as intended.
-
The same for me! Only manual proxy settings are worked
-
I don't know. I don’t have access to the vivaldi issue tracker.

Thanks!

is this fixed?
I would like to try the proxy PAC in Vivaldi....
I found I'm using Firefox more and more.... but it's still impossible to remove the space-taking address bar there.... -
Proxy Switcher may help as it has its own PAC support

It seems to me that this is intentional change and will not be reverted in future Chromium versions so I had to run own nginx server. Changed script location from c:\aaa\my.pac to http://server_ip/my.pac and all works as it should again.
Thank you Gwen-Dragon. -
Just for the reference in case anyone was looking for a more clear explanation:
- this came from decision in here, and it may still have a workaround via cmdline flags
- the official statement is that file:// handlers for PAC will be deprecated very soon, and you should use http[s]:// locations for PAC rule files if you need them (either web-servers or simple scripts in languages that support basic socket operations will work)
- also this
As of myself, I brought up a super-simple lighttpd config that serves my PAC files from localhost.
