Ctrl+A and Del in History deletes whole day
That is what one would expect it to do. Was the bug that it used to delete the entire browsing history?
-
@pesala: Issue was that if you searched for something, example: "Bread" and did Ctrl + A to delete all the entries related to "Bread" it would also delete all the history in the days that had any entries related to "Bread". Now it deletes just the entries related to "Bread".

Too few fixes to justify an update, I suspect this will be another "stable" release with an excess of basic functionalites still broken.
-
@ian-coog: Afaik there are 57 changes (features + fixes) since the last final update (this is without the snapshot regressions). Many of the fixes I'm sure other users will be excited for, even though you aren't And as has been mentioned before, we follow Chromium's release schedule closely so that we can stay up to date on security issues. Every single version can't be a banger with 100+ fixes, major features etc. Sometimes working on stuff that is more long-term is a necessity
-
I've just lost all my opened tabs after the update
-
@mozzer Sorry, are you on Linux?
-
@lamarca: Windows user.
-
@mozzer Thx. Linux still don't use Auto update.

@Aronand I was talking about this update, but I understand that the only fix in this .35 build could have been an annoyance for many.
While it's true that the 2.6 snapshots totaled a lot of fixes and new features against 2.5 - as it always was, I would be surprised of the contrary - there are still lots of annoying regressions that got reported but probably won't get fixed into the stable build. Not being able to delete Items from the search fields for example in my view is a major problem, same as the numlock/capslock bugging keyboard usability in both address and search fields dropdowns. And these are long standing bugs that are not only present in a couple of past stable rels, but got even worse in 2.6 cycle. -
@ian-coog: Oh, you mean the snapshot has too few fixes? I misunderstood you then, my apologies, but I'd argue its better to have a small update in the snapshot stream to make the final better than not(we don't know for sure just how many snapshots we'll be able to do, right. Its called RC or Release Candidate for a reason). We have a list of bugs internally of issues we'd like to have fixed before the final, so we'll always try and cram as many of them in as we can. As for the search/address field we are re-writing the entire thing bit by bit, so there will be a few issues there, but once we are done, it should be much more efficient and less buggy.

That are some great news, I can't wait to see it back in business

I'm noticing those .dmp files being created with a new profile as well as reported in the previous build here https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/38102/vivaldi-2-6-rc-1-vivaldi-browser-snapshot-1566-31/49 and filed a bug-report about it VB-54532 including those .dmp files. Please investigate before my SSD goes full
-
@npro: Thanks, I'll look into them

Yeah, yesterday I had 50 or so .dmp in crashpad dir, deleted them. Now I checked and there are 42, in less than 2 days!

@ian-coog: If you could report a bug with a few of the latest .dmp files created I can look over, and see if its from a known issue or not etc.
