Sync fails to login every time I switch between using two devices
-
This issue happens only on one of my systems. Basically every morning when I boot up this (work) machine and start vivaldi I get the following error:
"Vivaldi.net rejected your credentials: Persisted access token data not found"
I have to each time login again manually by entering my password to get sync back to a working state.
I noticed this only happens if in the meantime I used my other system (that syncs to the same profile as well)
Anyone else ever encountered this?
Bug Number: VB-51642

I've just started to use Vivaldi today and I'm getting this problem. Maybe it is not designed to be used between computers.
-
That's definitely not it. But this issue seems to be extremely rare. I thought I was the only one all this time since I have seen no other reports.
I'm still not sure what to make of it. The devs told me they could find nothing in the logs. Resetting the server sync data didn't help either.

@mtaki14
Hi, it seams rare as many user work on different systems at the same time. Me do as I write.
@koyay9id it is especially designed for this.
The thread is in all platforms so are you on Linux/Windows?
I use both.
There are sometimes hickups with the sync server but usually it work.Cheers, mib

@lamarca Already reported of course. I was told it cannot be replicated. As I mentioned earlier they could find nothing in their logs that would indicate something went wrong. In any case the bug number is VB-51642.

I started getting this issue a week ago. I dual-boot Windows 10 (1803) and Zorin OS on my laptop. After updating Zorin OS to version 15 and installing Vivaldi I started getting the
Vivaldi.net rejected your credentials: Persisted access token data not found (400).
error on my Zorin installation. It doesn't happen every time I boot into Zorin/launch Vivaldi, and when it happens I simply press the cloud button in the status bar and then log in again (username, password and encryption password are all remembered).I'm currently on 2.6 RC1 in both OSs.
(I've checked the bug status in the status thread, so this post is just to add my experience in case it is helpful.)

@mtaki14 Hi, I had a look at your report, and you don't use Proxy, yes?
@Komposten said in Sync fails to login every time I switch between using two devices:

Hi, do you have two machines like @mtaki14? If so, I will ping someone,
-
@lamarca The issue happens on my Zorin OS installation on my laptop (where I also have Windows installed). It does not happen in Windows on the laptop on my desktop (which only has Windows installed).
-
@Komposten Thanks.
-
Exactly the same issue, across Ubuntu 18.04 and Windows 10. Windows seems to persist, but Linux is confused and requires logging in again.
-
The same issue here. Using Vivaldi on Ubuntu 19.10 on two different hosts, on one of the hosts this sync issue arises every day.
-
I have the same bug, Need to relogin all the time on different devices
-
can it be fixed? Very annoying that you need to log in constantly when you switch to another device. I sync all except passwords, maybe problem in this

@Gwen-Dragon : VB-64389

also tryed to change passwords, and reset data many times, doesnt work. problem on pc1, pc2, mobile, When i use vivaldi on device 1, device 2 ask pass, when log in on device 2, device 1 asks pass, When u work only on 1 device all is fine, before u need to log in on another

The way this happens for me is that I am logged in to Vivaldi in both Windows and Linux on my laptop (I dual-boot). When I boot into Windows and launch Vivaldi it syncs just fine, but when I boot into Linux it will sometimes give the "Persistent access token not found" error from the sync.
Haven't used my laptop much recently, though, so I don't know how frequently it happens these days. Don't think it's 100 % consistent, though.
-
@Gwen-Dragon no, i did not log-out, just when i log-in on second device (because of sync failed) and after open first device, vivaldi snows me that sync failed, pls open sync settings. It happens not randomly, and on every device, problem directly in your sync system. I will try to made new user, and will check

didn't help, other account has the same problems. Also tryed to use sync only settings with reset data.
