H264/MP4 support
-
Vivaldi seems to be a good browser, but it is lacking of support for H264/MP4 video codecs, neither AAC/MP3 audio codecs. There are standards web formats, without this I am not ready to use it yet. True. Unfortunately, Vivaldi doesn't support H264/MP4 video codecs….
As I am not using Adobe's Flash Player at all, support for H264/MP4 video codecs would be very important to me. So, sadly, I can't use Vivaldi yet. I really hope support will be implemented in the final version ! -
I moved this thread now under Browser section.

I tried to use the ffmpegsumo.dll from Google Chrome Canary, that didn't work out

Almost every major browser supports this, Vivaldi should too.

As I understand it, they would have to pay royalties. That takes money, which Vivaldi is not making any of yet.

That has changed. Part of H264 has been open-sourced.
