Most distros seem to have a single Flash package that when run installs whichever version your browser(s) need.

@ks10 Installing pepperflash is enough. You need to allow flash on each site you want to use it on, that's all I can tell you. You will have to provide more information otherwise.
Yeah I tried to allow Flash on Youtube e.g. but when I try to do this, I mean I click on the button which lies left of the address bar, I see there's no Allow Flash point.

Thank you for welcoming lamarca :), I've read CoC. Yes, I tried to google why my laptop with Vivaldi browser doesn't show Flash content and looked some Vivaldi Help pages related to how to enable Flash on Vivaldi. Looks like the problem is that Vivaldi doesn't see pepperflash package. If I open Tools >> Settings >> Webpages and look at Plugins section there I found that there's no Enable Flash option.

I'm a Linux newbie and started to use it recently. I installed Manjaro Linux on my laptop and, as far as I remember, on this distro on the start I had not any Flash, NPAPI or PPAPI, packages installed. It had only Firefox installed which, it looks like, includes Flash plugin in itself. For now I have both NPAPI flashplugin and PPAPI pepper-flash Flash packages installed.
@Gwen-Dragon said in No Flash but pepperflash is installed:
@ks10 Please read https://help.vivaldi.com/article/enabling-flash/ hwo to enable Flash Player temporary.
//EDIT: I found this on Chromium related browsers on WWW:
If you need to enable Flash for a special website URL you have to set a policy in file/etc/chromium/policies/managed/
See http://www.chromium.org/administrators/policy-list-3#PluginsAllowedForUrls and https://www.chromium.org/administrators/linux-quick-startYes I looked the web page on Vivaldi Help you noticed.
Thank you for the info about how to enable Flash on website via policy. Ehm I don't see the folder chromium on /etc/ so that will help me for a Chromium non-Vivaldi browser, I guess. So as Vivaldi doesn't show me options to Allow or Enable Flash I doubt Vivaldi sees and uses pepperflash package at all. And I doubt it's Vivaldi's problem. What do you think, is this problem occurred because of Manjaro?

That is correct, it was removed some versions ago.
Yeah I tried to allow Flash on Youtube
Youtube does not require flash plug-in (any more), so it does not appear.
First, open Vivaldi menu Help/About
You should see an entry for FlashGo to a url which does require flash e.g. https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html
Click "Check Now"
If it says Flash is NOT installed or enabled
Click on the site icon in the url bar (the green padlock)On the list, select site settings and scroll down to Flash; set it to allow
Now reload the page and Click "Check Now" again.
Note: On some sites that require Flash the entry for Flash will be directly under the site icon, others require using Site Settings.
Note: This will have to be repeated every time you close/restart Vivaldi (if the policy setting given by @Gwen-Dragon does not work).

@TbGbe This is what Vivaldi about window shows to me:
Flash is 999.999.999.999 version khm.
So I proceeded to https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html , clicked Check Now, got the message that Flash is NOT installed, enabled Flash on site settings, reloaded the page and checked Flash again, and this is what happens when I try right-click to run Flash Player >> Run this plugin:
So Adobe's page says that some strange 999 version of Flash exists but this Flash doesn't actually play on pages. I checked other webpage with Flash content to see how it goes: webpage offers right-click to enable Flash Player, I do this, and Flash just doesn't play.
Thank you for info that YouTube doesn't use Flash already). Khm I noted YouTube because some of its videos don't play and there is some generic error when I try to play a video. If I try to play this video on Firefox it plays with no problem. I just started to doubt it's the problem which regards Vivaldi and Flash. It is actual reason why I started this topic, I watch many Youtube videos through a day and often I have to open YT's video pages with Firefox just to be able to watch them. And I think if I fix Flash for Vivaldi on my laptop it will start to play all Youtube videos, not just some of them. -
@Gwen-Dragon just went to the Flash Player test page you noted.
It goes same way as any other page with Flash: I click to run the plugin and Flash doesn't play.
My Linux distro is Manjaro KDE. -
@Gwen-Dragon I'm highly sure I enabled Flash for the page you noticed, checked it several times before posting in the topic. I also worked several years as PC repairer and system engineer :).
Thank you pointing about extra codecs, I forgot about them. Will install them.@Gwen-Dragon said in No Flash but pepperflash is installed:
And as you stated on https://forum.vivaldi.net/post/295385 Flash works for you.
Hm I tried to say that Flash doesn't work for me heh. Well, English is my 2nd language.
@Gwen-Dragon said in No Flash but pepperflash is installed:
And you need to install extra codecs to watch video on YT, see https://help.vivaldi.com/article/html5-proprietary-media-on-linux/
I tried to proceed the instructions described on the page you noted. I stuck just on terminal. I type vivaldi and press Enter but I receive a message "Command is not found". It's quite strange because if I type e.g. firefox in terminal and press Enter then Firefox browser opens.
I also opened a topic about non-starting Vivaldi browser from console on Manjaro's forum: https://forum.manjaro.org/t/cannot-run-application-from-terminal/88616?u=ks-10 . Maybe guys there know exactly what's the problem. -

It was much easier, instead of vivaldi it works for vivaldi-stable command. With the instructions on https://help.vivaldi.com/article/html5-proprietary-media-on-linux/ I successfully installed the codecs but videos on the page https://www.quirksmode.org/html5/tests/video.html still don't play.
I'll proceed to Troubleshooting section of noted Vivaldi Help's page heh.
Edited: made a bug report regarding no media playing with proprietary codecs installed - VB-53717. -
@ks10 I just found out the test page below is no longer working:

lamarca, Gwen-Dragon - thanks!! Got HTML5 content with proprietary codecs it working, now everything except Flash plays. I'm highly sure that I just forgot to exit Vivaldi by right-clicking its icon in system tray and choosing this option, and it got me to non-working proprietary codecs. Flash still is 999.999.999 and doesn't work, but Flash content is quite rare on Internet, so it doesn't bore me. I guess I'm quite lazy to try more to fix this heh. Probably will try to solve this later. Thanks to all participants of this topic .

@ks10 You are welcome. Issue solved. I'll tag the topic as resolved.
Cheers

Manjaro is Arch based?
Yes.

@Gwen-Dragon Thank you for information, glad to know this fix will be released soon :).

@ks10 As usual, the fix will be applied on the Snapshots.
