Twitter web panel crashes vivaldi
-
Suddenly vivaldi started crashing on startup.
I installed fresh from start, everything is fine until i add twitter to web side panel, then vivaldi crashes, and i cant start it anymore because it crashes again.
I tried again to rename default folder, then as soon as i add twitter to web panel it crashes again.
Any idea why its happening?
Or how to start browser again when that happens, without starting from fresh profile?Vivaldi 2.5.1525.40 (Stable channel) (64-bit)

I can confirm the issue on Linux as well. Please report a bug, you will be given a number (VB-99999), post the it here for our follow up.
Attach the crash log in the mail and send it backhttps://help.vivaldi.com/article/reporting-crashes-on-windows/

Ok, i just reported bug with instructions you provided, VB-53087, thank you.
Any way to start browser when this happens, some web panel file we can remove so browser can start without it?
P.S. Just found out it crashes browser when i add twitter page to speed dial too, but this was easy fix, overwrite bookmarks file with old one.

@SomiKnight You are welcome.
Yes, that's expected. Here is the trick: turn the network off before starting Vivialdi, remove the TW from Web Panel restart the NetworkNetwok.Edited: typo

@lamarca disabling network had no effect here,. still crashes on startup
-
Confirmed. Twitter on web panel crashes Vivaldi even on a fresh installation.

Here is another possibility: SD

@Gwen-Dragon as already stated, disabling network does not help, it still crashes on startup (so you cannot remove webpanel because it has already crashed.)
if we knew where webpanel config file was we could just delete that from our profiles.
-
@lamarca I can confirm the issue on macOS Mojave 10.14.4 as well.
-
I found that deleting "User Data/Default/Local App Settings" removes the web panel. However it also removes your themes, and possibly other things (I'm not sure).
-
@tanamraam3714 Did you back up the folder before deleting?
-
@Dimspace If simply turning network off doesn't work, delete your cache first. In Linux it's located in
~/.cache/vivaldi

I returned to Google Chrome because is not possible to use Whatsapp Web (tab or web panel) and after activate the Twitter in the web panel is not possible to open Vivalvi (crash).
I'll wait the next release with these issues solved. -
I had the exact same issue. I could fix that by very quickly right click on the twitter web panel and remove it before the browser crashed. Need to be fast but after removing the web panel no crash.

We just released an update to address this issue
