Avast Detecting Vivaldi component as Virus
-
Can anybody explain why Avast detect a component of Vivaldi as a trojan virus? Is this a false positive?

No component of Vivaldi, as I can't find such a file here. Maybe an extension?
-
CRX_INSTALL pretty seems like an extension ROOT check extensions and look for something related to messaging.
anyway, "TBmessagingHost.exe" does not seem like Vivaldi's and it's not.

The TBmessagingHost malware/adware is typically only installed when bundled with other freeware downloads. Did you download Vivaldi from Vivaldi's own website? Also, did you install any other freeware while Vivaldi was open on your system, particularly if Vivaldi was set as default browser?

Hello,
Yes, I've downloaded it directly from Vivaldi's website, and Avast is alerting me everytime I open the browser.
-
This happened to me once when I installed a portable version from http://portableappz.blogspot.co.uk/ I only try portable browsers just for quick testing never for doing sensitive work, always stick to official versions. Vivaldi should release portable versions like Maxthon do.

Then you need to inform Avast it's a false positive. You're not tie first to report Avast had a problem with Vivaldi. The last person specifically named a file in their profile space for Vivaldi, which is NOT installed by Vivaldi. Do you have a specific file name and location which Avast is complaining about?

When I installed Vivaldi and checked my plugins, I was surprised to find Avast! had already put a couple addons into Vivaldi as plugins already. It's possible that this malware wasn't even installed with Vivaldi but snuck over after being installed in another browser, but for some reason or another his virus scanner is only noticing it now.

he is still the same person he is the one who reported it with the root. Anyway, he missed info that it's NOT related to vivaldi. That it's just a malware/Virus (terminology depends) installed from other service.
I even told him how to remove it⦠(I shared a link) -
