Web-Panel - change user-agent
-
Hi,
how can I change the web panels user-agent?
I dont mean the desktop/mobile view switch. I want to use an own user agent, to use some websites which dont like the panel user-agents.
Thank you in advance

user-agent addons don't have an impact on the web-panel

@tadeus915 Hi,
Currently, user agent spoofing is not implemented, so you'll have to use an extension.

@LonM
Hi.
I did everything as written in the article by link "user agent spoofing", but it did not work. See picture below:
"Mustache" in upper right corner is active, but user-agent in web panel has not changed
I tried other extensions (for example, User-Agent Switcher and Manager), but they also do not work with the web panel.
P.S. Global user-agent overwrite (command-line parameter --user-agent="xxxx") is working with web panels, but i don't want to change user-agent globally, only for some sites.

@zyrfyth Ah yes that was my error. The solution the help link suggests is to use an extension. But of course they don't work for panels. Sorry.
In the meantime, is there any site that won't work at all if you spoof globally? That could be a workaround for now.

@LonM Yes, for now command-line UA replacement is a working solution. But this is a temporary and inconvenient solution, which can lead to the appearance of the words "update your browser" on some sites if you forget to update the command line when new versions are released.

@zyrfyth True. It's not great that there isn't an easy workaround.

How can I do a "command-line UA replacement"?

@tadeus915 Append
--user-agent="your user agent string here"
to the shortcut you use to start Vivaldi. This will set the user agent for the entire browser, though, rather than for specific tabs/web panels.
