Java doesn't work on Vivaldi 64bits
-
I think that's pretty ironic, considering it's made with JavaScript. Ironic, but also pretty game-breaking. I tried reinstalling both Java 32bits & 64bits since I run the 64bits version of Vivaldi, but to no avail; when it comes to verifying if the installation went well, nothing pops up. When I go somewhere that uses Java and has audio (like RuneScape), I can hear the audio but still can't see anything.

For the record, Java has absolutely nothing to do with JavaScript, apart from sharing some of the same letters in their names… they're two entirely separate and unrelated animals that simply have similar names. I no longer use Java nor have it installed on my systems for security-risk reasons, but I would guess that Vivaldi may not yet have a capability for interfacing with Java class or jar files from a visited site.

I don't agree.
Vivaldi on Windows 7 64 bits with Oracle VM 1.8.0_31 64 bits.
I checked the Java plugin load with an applet to authenticate with digital certificate. It took the Windows' certificate store and it worked very well. -
Bumpity bump.

No problem here (Win7-64)… "Your Java version: Version 8 Update 31" from http://www.java.com/en/download/installed8.jsp

Must be an issue with Win8/8.1 then, 'cause no matter how many times I reinstall Java, the Verify tool doesn't even work. Neither does the Uninstall older versions tool; basically everything that has to do with Java doesn't work.

It's not Windows. It's something corrupted on your particular machine. My Win 8.1 is totally comfy with java.
-
It's not my OS, Firefox is totally comfy with Java but it's Vivaldi that doesn't work at all with it.

Tried, doesn't work. Also, Vivaldi is now in German for some reason, but I doubt it's related.
