@ruario Happy day

@gwen-dragon: It looks as though this intended to give separate support for extension "browser actions" (extension area icons) and "page actions" (specific to a page, historically would appear in the address bar).
But right now it's just broken and seems to duplicate all the extension icons.
-
@Gwen-Dragon Yeah, that's a major bug. Not only do they appear in the address field, it seems like extension icons are being shown for all extensions, even those without a working action button. Additionally leaving empty spaces for all installed userscripts, which don't feature an extension icon at all.
-
@gwen-dragon: additionally - extensions that shouldn't have an icon - displays an icon in extension bar (but not in address bar)
that's a separate issue, please report, while you're at it
-
what a disaster, wasn't this even tested before pushing it on public?

VB-52556 "[Regression] Extensions icons appear in address field"
and the opposite - icon from address field shows on extension bar
blue arrow indicates icons that should be in address bar only
violet indicates icons that shouldn't appear anywhere:
https://i.imgur.com/S2BOld0.pngdidn't marked icons that shouldn't appear in the address bar, because that's too obvious to catch
-
@Gwen-Dragon Would be great to have an option to choose where to show the extensions icons - either in adress field or at the old place
-
@Gwen-Dragon Yep, I can confirm 2.5.1525.30 / Win10 x64 - confirmed in the BT
-
An immediate workaround, while boring to do everytime vivaldi gets restarted, is to open extensions settings tab, disable all extensions and then enable them again. The icons all disappear from address field and only those that should show up are now between the searchfield and extension toggle.

Seeing as we're entering the stabilising phase, could I make a request to see if we can't nip in the bud the issue where tiling or moving tabs to new windows results in poor performance / input lag?
I originally reported this as VB-50885 which was CNR. The issue
no longer seems to happen with twitch, butstill happens in web app / heavy pages such as Discord and Outlook & twitch. Is it worth reporting a new bug if I'm hoping to see this fixed for 2.5?
Also nice would be to see the issues with inspecting internal / extension pages causing crashes. (Reported as VB-49219). This one only seems to be partially fixed.
I think those are the two major bugs that need to be fixed before a stable release, as they are the ones most likely to cause instability and are difficult / impossible to work around.
Update: After some more testing, I see the issue still happens in twitch, it's just not as pronounced as in other pages.

[Regression] Download “save as” and “open” just save in default location VB-51913
this has been fixed at least, good.
-
[Regression] Typed history in search field does not show up sometimes VB-52340
this is still buggy, and it's again not possible navigating with cursor keys, only with tab/shift-tab (and mouse)
the suggestions in the search field are still cut at half+something length of the search field adding useless "..." way before the search field is actually filled.
Esc doesn't work again, it doesn't close the suggestions dropdown.
Clicking on the lens icon make the search engine dropdown appear, but can't be clicked again to make it disappear.

@iAN-CooG lol aren't you overreacting for such a tiny thing? "Disaster" sheesh...
It's kinda interesting too as the icons are much smaller and much closer to another and one can use the 3-dot menu to gain even more space. I liked it.

The bug is at least present since 2.3 stable – and is present in the current 2.4 stable. We are well beyond the phase of protecting stable to receive such a bug, lol. Since the admins only want recent bugs reported in the stabilisation releases, I guess it doesn't make any sense pointing it out right now.
-
@Gwen-Dragon I liked it , saving space as they are much closer to each other and smaller.

I'm not happy when the new versions add more bugs than the fixed ones, and the extensions showing where they shouldn't it's so evident that should have stopped the press.

It looks like every update is getting worse and worse.
