Today’s snapshot is the third release candidate for 2.4.

Firstest!

Calculator still gives only 3 decimal places, which is fewer than when it was first introduced. Google calculator is so much better.
-
New snapshot, still the same issue for the last couple months.
On this financial website:
www.desjardins.com
Left clicking doesn't always work, especially on the big Log On button in the middle of the page. Middle clicking on it to open the link in a new tab works. If it somehow work for you, it will stop working after a while of the page being closed/opening a private tab to retry. -
I'm really worried. Are you going to rush release 2.4 with more regressions than new features? Don't shoot on your own feet.
-
- Dragging bookmarks out of a folder on the bookmarks bar still duplicates them
- I still get input lag on certain tabs moved to new windows
- I still get stutter / flickering on panels and tiled tabs
- I guess we'er not going to see a nicer profile icon this snapshot cycle then
- I still can't find any description of what "Use a google service to assist in form autofill" actually does or how it contacts google. I would really like to see https://vivaldi.com/privacy/browser/ updated before release.
Good to see a potential fix for those sync messages. I'll keep an eye out for any stragglers.
-
Devtools still crash V (force close or empty window) during options page inspections (extensions)

Say I wanted to test a snapshot... Is the process basically "uninstall current Vivaldi, install snapshot, frolic"? If I install a snapshot build, will it prompt me to update to the next stable build when it's released? Or is the best approach to keep a stable version on your machine and sandbox the snapshot somehow?
-
- You can run both stable and snapshot versions side by side.
- The snapshot stream will always update only with snapshot versions even if the stable version is the newer one
- Download the snapshot from this blogpost and in the install window click on advanced --> hit the dropdown window where "install per user" or something like this is noted and select "install as standalone" --> choose a install path. (please choose something different from your stable installpath so nothing will mix up, e.g. create a new folder on your desktop)
To tell both icons apart from each other stable=red/white, snapshot=black/white

@zaibon Not being critical or sarcastic [moi? never!], only objective. If Cassandra happens not to be a Windows user [as i think you've asumed] but instead say a Linux user, she can directly install both V's side by side with her nix's package manager... at least, that's true with many distros. Just sayin'...
PS: Not saying that Standalones are not possible in Linux [given Lilo re-educated me on that weeks ago], only saying that ordinarily that's not necessary to have to do.
-
@Steffie people speak about what they know and use, of course. You are also forgetting mac users then.
-
@iAN-CooG No i did not forget them, i omitted Mac for exactly the reason you wrote.
-
@Steffie
I've to admit that I, again, forgot about the superiority of linux based systems ; )
My apologies -
Nice, thanks @ruario

- It is not necessary to uninstall your version of stable vivaldi to install the snapshot, just install it as a standalone.
- Not the Snapshot version will only receive updates to it (this goes for the stable version as well).
- It is obvious that the best decision to make (seeking stability) will be the stable version.
-
@ian-coog: 2.4 will be released tomorrow - according to Computerworld Norway (http://www.cw.no/artikkel/nettlesere/bygg-din-egen-nettleser)

@iAN-CooG You can't have Stable and Snapshot versions installed side-by-side on macOS. (Some "hacks" have been developed to kinda sorta get this working but they are not supported, and you'll probably end up corrupting your primary installation if you don't know/understand exactly what you're doing or if anything goes wrong.)

- Enabling or disabling an extension option still hides the icon when it shouldn't (VB-51188)
- Hibernated icons are still dimming even if setting required to do so is turned off (VB-50950)
- Option-clicking the panel icon still does not enable or disable floating panels (VB-51083)
- Trash icon still doesn't work while in guest mode (VB-51161), is this intentional? If so, why not just hide the icon?
- Extension pop-ups are still very buggy and they have even cause multiple crashes for me (VB-51190)
None of these issues have been fixed, and there are many more that I pointed out in the previous RCs.
