-
fresh installation on macosx10.6 trying to open my facebook profile. while loading and showing my latest news vivaldy crushed everytime. No user activity on fb, just to need logon to profile and waiting some seconds before browser crushed. crush dump attached
-
10.10 not having these issues
-
no issue with 10.8.5
-
problem with facebook still exists in build 10.0.111.2
-
!0.9.4 - Maverick runs fine on FB
Vivaldi: Earlier versions of MacOS requires f.i. Growl (Snow Leopard and earlier).
-
I expect you mean "CRASH" - the Vivaldi cannot run FB.
I see other problems that may be related to Flash that crush Vivaldi. Flash is single-thread and runs as a helper service. The same is the case with all the "Add-on". They are nice to have but becomes a semaphore, and inhibits performance of many windows. So if "Crush" means that FB instances make Vivaldi slowly grind to a dead stop, you are very right. I have no quick solution to that, and doubt anyone, including Adobe has a quick-fix.

"Crush" means unexpected application termination with crush dump window:

ā¦. a lot of system bla-bla -
WOW! I found very interesting magic scenario that help to avoid browser crush on facebook.
After input email and password in logon form and press ok button it's very important quickly to click mouse somewhere outside vivaldy browser window. It that case brosser dont crush and show profile. After that there are no problem with FB at all.
Also if while logon to facebook profile you check "Keep me logged in" flag, than after succesfull logon and opening profile first time (using magic scenario described above) you can restart vivaldy with facebook without any problems.
My conclusion: problem related with first logon to facebook profile, may be it's related with vivaldy internal thread communication and cookies. -
WOW_2!!!!
With popular russian social network VK.com also exists tha same problem, and avoiding problem scenario also tha same (just click outside browser window for some seconds).
So problem related with first logon, may be cookie installation code has bug. -

Th same problem in different sites with user autentification form. -

ā¦. a lot of system bla-blaYeah - if you look at the crash dump you copied, you will see the English word is "crash," not "crush." To crash means to come to an abrupt end in English, and to crush means to smash, crumple or otherwise forcibly reduce in size, integrity, or stature through external pressure. I realize that the small Roman letter "a" and the small Roman letter "u" look somewhat similar, but they are vowels that sound entirely different. The first sounds like a short scream and the second sounds like a punch in the gut. Reading is fun.

- "Crush" means also "being in love" - here that you have a crush for FB would mean that you like FB very much,
So we can all have a crush on Vivaldi
English is a strange language where ambiguity - many meanings of words is used for amusement: "Little Freddy found sea-shell and put it ear, it was an unexploded one so Fred no longer hear" - Shell as the petrol station, shell as you find in the sea, shell as in mortar and cannons, shell as in "bash" ā¦ you can use any, he may have discovered "/bin/csh" - but the one that exploded is one that came from a cannon. -
You have an Nil pointer, - and this could be a consistency issue with Flash.
Because:
You loose pointer in most Flash fields, it is ok, you find it when you try to delete, but the vertical bar is lost (on e.g. Zdnet, Disqus, LiveFyre).
This is annoying - is there a pointer to the vertical bar / cursor character that Flash needs? This is specific for Viviladi, and is ok in Chrome & Opera. -
tech preview 2. problem don't solved yet
-
Someone indicated it might be a flash issue - have you checked that it's up to date or tried reinstalling flash? I haven't had any issues running FB in Vivaldi - if anything it runs better than either Opera 12 and Opera Next.

problem with vivaldi crash as descovered it this topic later hapend not only in FB, but in any site with autentification even this forum too. So some sites runs flash, some - does not.
