Thank you very much on both bugs!
I was hoping that a fix will come fast. -
Ah, so SpatNav was (one of) the causes for the YouTube bug. Is SpatNav always enabled to some effect? I encountered minor issues with it interacting with a page and causing issues a long time ago.
My intuition would be to assume that unless you explicitly try and use it, it shouldn't affect the page. Is there any way to make it act like that in a general case?
-
@lonm: Hi, yes our current Spatnav implementation has been known (by us) to be problematic for some time. There are a few sites now that are blacklisted. We are looking at other options, including the Chromium feature that works similarly. Nothing is perfect yet but we are making plans to improve the situation. We also plan to provide a way to switch Spatnav off completely, for those that do not need it.
P.S. The reason why everyone was not seeing issues with YouTube is that YouTube trial new versions (sometimes just subtly different) with select (by them) users. It was certainly good that we caught this before it was rolled out to everyone. Our biggest problem with understanding this issue and resolving it is that we didn't receive the problematic (for us) version, so could not see the issue. As a side note, it might be nice if YouTube would offer some official way to opt in and out of these test versions.
-
Oh and to clarify “should resolve”. I say this because we obviously don't know if YouTube tests multiple versions, thus there could perhaps be more issues. What we do know is that we fixed the issue that we were able to see on one machine/account here in the office. Of course we are hoping/expecting, that that is it. Hence QuHno's “crossing fingers …” is entirely appropriate.

Are you aware of a crash that happens when reloading a page (F5) with a form that has been sent via POST?
Usually the confirmation dialog pops up and works fine, but once in a while Vivaldi crashes. -
@ruario: You mean something like https://www.youtube.com/testtube ?

An update on ∏ day
-
@christoph142: I am fully aware of it but it is irrelevant for this issue because you cannot opt out of their a/b testing there. Only the handful of things they want you to opt in and out of.

Haha, good pic choice!

Be nice if you could fix some of the crappy behavior of google chrome find in page...
like how if you use find in page on a tab, and then refresh the page, the find in page gui will go away (fine I can live with that) but upon doing ctrl+f , it will show up with the previous text but it doesn't actually bother to refresh the results of that text search, you have to type something else or further interact with it.... the whole point of me pressing [ctrl]+[f] was for it to show results of a find request that is typed in, if it already has text typed in from previously then it should search that.Maybe if I wanted to change the find text to something else that would be fine and then I'd wonder wtf it doesn't just clear the result instead of making me have to manually remove the previous result and then enter in what I want.. because of a tab refresh etc... I can't believe I've had to write out all that, please Vivaldi improve some of this I know one of you there could do it.. I hope..
I mean even the find in page provided by chrome is complete rubbish to an almost 20year addon for myie2/maxthon2 addon (I forgot the name but it was beyond awesome with powerfeatures/customization/regex/scrollbar highlighting colors etc..pure awesome unlike most the chrome crap addons limited ) and it doesn't even support regex search.. google = beyond overrated pathetic company https://github.com/rogershen/chrome-regex-search

Am sorry
But it's still freezing : ((((((((((((((Don't know how we can help to resolve this find issue bug (?)...

If you think some feature should already be available, open the preferences dialogue and type "find" in the search field, or try Ctrl+F1 for the Keyboard Cheat Sheet.
You will see three results:
- Find in page (Ctrl+F) (Allows you to type a different search string)
- Find next (F3, Ctrl+G) (Finds the existing search string)
- Find previous (Shift+F3, Shift+Ctrl+G)
If you do not find what you want, ask nicely and someone will help you.

I haven't checked but I received an email stating my people should be addressed with most recent update.
I don't read the blog post as closely related to my issue at all.
Watch later button does not work on videos from the site that's currently hosting the video.
I have to open the video link in another tab or window then click on save to playlist and choose watch later.
