Ctrl-F no longer finds a phrase including a TAB
-
Recently stopped.
Used to find, say, "mnt-by APNIC-HM".
Not sure why this functionality stopped.
Will the feature return? Any time soon?--

Months. Years? Stopped working with the version update
cited above possibly one before that. I was hoping that
it would be fixed transparently or silently. Searching
search engines for search functionality is tricky logic:-/I use the Vivaldi search many times a day every day to find
or highlight commonalities in data lookups. Since version
cited above I cannot use a search phrase that includes a
TAB. The search fails to find instances that are plainly in view.Using a specified TAB previously showed a 'workable' number
of positives. Eschewing find functionality for a TAB (otherwise
looking for whatever number of word spaces) throws up rather
too many false positives. So, I am asking for the functionality
to be returned:-)My use of the previously available functionality should be largely
irrelevant to the 'heads up' bug report. -
FWIW your forum code has seemingly stripped out the
illustrative TAB supplied inside my specified search phrase. For instance I search for
"mnt-routes MAINT-IKTCL-HK".
There is or should be a TAB between
"mnt-routes" and "MAINT-IKTCL-HK" -
I sort of need a TAB not a blank or any other type of word space. -
Difficult to explain... Effectively (on screen) it appears to be
rendered as a TAB. Technically it is the white space between
two table elements in a row, the first being "text-align: right;".For a very long time Vivaldi's "Find In Page" functionality
would very precisely locate that virtual TAB when so provided
with a Ctrl-C/Ctrl-V of the search phrase across those two
table elements. Vivaldi would then properly & really rather
brilliantly render all iterations of that search phrase...Vivaldi does not do this any more. Hence the bug report.
Maybe I should edit the thread subject line
"finds a phrase including a TAB" into
"finds a phrase including two co-located horizontal table row elements"
...original seemed a bit more readable. -
How may I PM or directly email you?
-
OK... think I am there.

Precis:
We agree this is not a true "TAB"... but tables.
I reiterate that previous versions of Vivaldi work as I stated:
Find In Page used to check and find across table elements.Subsequently I have powered up an old offline machine
with another Vivaldi loaded:Vivaldi 2.3.1440.48 (Stable channel) (64-bit)
