Newest Snapshot will not open
-
I just installed the latest Snapshot 2.4.1468.4 (Official Build) snapshot (64-bit) and now I get an error when trying to start it and it will not start.
I get this:
$ /opt/vivaldi-snapshot/vivaldi-snapshot [3129:3129:0301/213042.406715:ERROR:sandbox_linux.cc(364)] InitializeSandbox() called with multiple threads in process gpu-process.
Please let me know how to fix this.
Thanks
I'm using Debian Testing 4.19.16-1 on Xfce 4.12 64bit
Update:
I renamed the vivaldi folder in ~/.config and it opened and brand new blank one. -
@troypulk Hello there.
Did you install Vivaldi using the command line? -
No I updated it using my SolydX 10 EE Debian Package updater

The whole folder or just the Default, where your profile is located?
-
The whole folder /.config/vivaldi-snapshot
-
@troypulk That's new for me. Just out of curiosity, can Vivaldi execute the test case below?
-
Yes, all the video's work.
I did this for my regular setup and I think it's on my HD and that's why it works in a fresh install.
-
How do I back out of the update and hopefully restore my settings?
Can I use sync to restore my setup?
What other trouble shooting can I do to find out what happened and restore it?
Thanks

Yes, all the video's work.
After renaming you were not prompt with a wrapper, so that mean the new procedure is working fine even under your condition. That's awesome.

If you issued
$ mv vivaldi-snapshot 'new name' ?
Only Sync can restore partially your settings. -
@lamarca
Is the question mark at the end of the rename suppose to be there?
So it will look like this:
mv vivaldi-snapshot vivaldi-snapshot?Will this bring back my bookmarks?
Can I pick out the files in the nonworking folder and paste them in the new folder?
Thanks

No. It mean I am not sure if you renamed the folder or moved it somewhere else

If you still have the old folder, yes. Just some files are enough. Check the list of them here

Since the issue is in the default folder I just look the default folder from the stable branch and copied it to the snapshot folder.
It works and now I'll sync it and hopefully things will be back to normal.

@troypulk Hi there.
It's embarrassing to tell this. The Stable engine is different from the SS. Besides, we don't know what caused Vivaldi not be able to load.
An outdated third-party file support or placed at the wrong folder. Example: libffmpeg.so. should be at ~./local/lib -
Thanks for your help,
I just started from scratch, renamed all the snap-shot folders and reinstalled.
Reinstalled bookmarks and re-synced to get my Extensions back and what ever other settings sync fixes.
I'll compare the folders later if I feel like it to see why there was an error in the first place.

@troypulk You're welcome.

The same happens to me:
[argovel@argovel-pc ~]$ vivaldi-snapshot
