Ask for permission to refresh the TAB. How?
-
In Opera (even in the newest version) still asks me if I really want to refresh my page if I press Prefresh button / or CTRL+R / or F5. This is so useful to me, because I sometimes accidently or by reflex press these combinations or the button, and I lose my text, or whatever was there...
So my question is, how or where can I configure Vivaldi to get this (picture is from Opera browser):
If you don't see this picture here is the direct link to it:

It doesn't seem to work unfortunately.
This is a page where I can test it:
https://www.w3schools.com/jsref/tryit.asp?filename=tryjsref_onbeforeunload
If I click on the blue link on the left in firefox, it warns me, but vivaldi does not.
However, this behaviour seems very inconsistent, even in firefox as there if I reload the page or close the tab I am not warned.
In vivaldi, it seems that nothing (Link, Reload or close tab) prompts me.
https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/Events/beforeunload Has a note that says
Note: To combat unwanted pop-ups, browsers may not display prompts created in beforeunload event handlers unless the page has been interacted with, or may even not display them at all.
Perhaps vivaldi is being too reserved in what it considers "been interacted with". It seems to me like a bug. You can report a bug here: https://vivaldi.com/bugreport - mention a page where you can test that it works in opera but not in vivaldi.

@Gwen-Dragon I use Version:58.0.3135.53.
It is a feature that I see from the very beginning I started to use Opera back then... in 2010.
Now I have found Vivaldi, which is much cooler then Opera, and have the abilities that Opera use to have back then... but I miss this asking a permission to reload.
Plus a problem, when I logout from my profile, the browser doesn't delete the configurated tabs (customized in Speed Dial) what is very bad. I logged in into my PC what I use rarely, and then SYNC what was OK, but after I logged out, everything stayed like that, my tabs, my history, my bookmarks... and that is not so privet data protected. I thought when I log out it will be appear like when you installed the very first time: blanc and clear with no tabs on.
This 2 problems I have at the time. -
@szGenius Right-click on the toolbar, Customize, and remove the reload button.
Go to Settings, Keyboard, Page and set some shortcuts that you cannot press by accident, e.g.
- Reload Page = Ctrl+Alt+F5
- Force Page Reload = Ctrl+Alt+Shift+F5

@Pesala It seems that you don't understand my problem. I know where to customize and how to use these. But Vivaldi don't want to ask permission before reload the page. If you know PHP programming, I want a simple alert() window, to allow or disallow the reload of he page if I press CTRL+R or refresh button. Where can I put ON this feature, because now it is clearly off. Don't know even exists in Vivaldi. This is my main question. Where can I find it?

@szGenius said in Ask for permission to refresh the TAB. How?:
I sometimes accidentally or by reflex press these combinations or the button
If the button is hidden, you cannot press it. If the shortcut is difficult to execute, it takes a little more mental effort, i.e. it is no longer a reflect action requiring just one finger, or two.

@szGenius I think such option don't exist yet. You may upvote the feature request below.
I think the user want an alert on any reload - not only when defined by theonbeforeunload

Maybe this is what is wanted?

@Hadden89 Was this already in feature requests, or did someone move it?
