Vivaldi 2.3 introduces Auto-Stacking in Tabs, addresses the Address Field and more
-
Vivaldi team, thank you! Great work! And frequent releases are very welcome!
-
Why favicons in tabs so big?
-
@Mioni They are just 18pixels here with 100% UI Zoom.
Are you using Windows Scaling or a high UI Zoom?
-
@Pesala Other build is normal.
The favicons gets blurred. Not using Windows Scaling and UI Zoom.
-
Hooray for confirmation dialog!
-
Is it me or have I spotted some rss preview files on Vivaldi's folder ??
-
@Pesala Here is a picture comparing the favicons now vs version 2.2. They are definitely bigger than their standard size for some reason.
The UI zoom was set at 100% during both screenshots.
I reported this as VB-49010

Autostacking is nice, great to have that. Option for the stack to start as expanded in the side window would make it easier to find/close the active tab though.
-
I've only been using Vivaldi for about a month, and autostacking is something I very much wanted - thank you so much. My only other want, so far, has been to be able to close stacked tabs with a middle mouse click. Right now, middle clicking on the preview image of a tab does nothing - I must actually target and left click the X... or middle click the tab to close my last sub-tab (and hope it was the one I meant to close). Thank you again, I'm enjoying my new browsing experience.

Newest version of Sticky Pasword extension it's still not working with Vivaldi: unfortunately, it doesn't work with the new 2.3 Vivaldi version.
Last SP version working with Vivaldi: Build 8.1.0.112 (May 10, 2018) -
@cyllibi Hehe, I've been asking for this all the time, even in this thread if you 'd look At first I thought it was a bug, since it worked like this in Opera Presto (Jon Tetzchner's previous browser re-incarnated in Vivaldi) and even created a set of bug reports for it, VB-43505 (and the relevant VB-43506 -Tab Stack with thumbnails does not stay on top for further actions when a tab of the stack is closed).
Anyway, you can vote for it Close tabs by middle-click on thumbnail so that it at least climbs some positions.
And I think you would be interested in this one too: Do not close tab group popup after closing a tab

So happy the Mac Speed dial refresh issue seems resolved! Thank you!

Is Vivaldi's Image capture better than Opera's save website as pdf?
-
@archive1 It's different. Vivaldi has "save as PDF" as a print option - but it is usually not an exact visual copy of what you see on the page. The capture options allow you to capture any part of, or all of, a page, as an exact visual copy of what you see on the screen, and includes the ability to capture a scrollable web page - more than is visible on the screen.
-
@archive1: OMG, I just tested it out and its better. One small request though. Need a capture short cut to appear on context menu of webpage e.g right click website to capture
-
@ayespy: Opera save as PDF is better than Vivaldi's print option to PDF, but now I think Vivaldi's Image capture is equivalent to Opera's save as PDF

You may submit a feature request: https://forum.vivaldi.net/category/113/feature-requests
-
@archive1 Until then you can assign a keyboard shortcut to it, which works marvelously.

HDR video on youtube still not working
-
@AltCode they were definitely changed. It's most noticeable on icons made up of straight lines and squares.
