Shortcut to Keyboard Shortcuts
-
Keyboard Shortcuts is one of the main reason I am holding on to V for dear life. Can we have the blessings from the powers that be to assign a shortcut to get to this menu ?? And with everything expanded please - it is such a pain to determine if a key is already assigned, and we can't get to it unless we painfully expand each parent node. Power users have to keep getting at the Shortcuts menu plenty-a-time !

@rojaviv I am not sure why you want a shortcut for this:
- Is it remembering what the shortcut is for each command? In which case the keyboard cheat-sheet (Ctrl+F1) may be what you're looking for: Keyboard Cheat Sheet Should Default to Collapsed would improve that. Even better would be Display Shortcuts in the Menus
- Is it that when assigning new shortcuts you cannot see what command they are assigned to? That's already displayed when you try to assign one that's in use. See More Information about Shortcut Conflicts .
- To locate a shortcut that is in use, type it in the search field, e.g. Ctrl+T
- To access the dialogue, just use Alt+P, but see Settings Dialogue Should Remember its Active Tab. However, that's not an issue if you leave it open while editing shortcuts and testing things out.

Dunno what I was thinking, or smoking, this is a non-issue
Thanks @Pesala for the suggestions., please close.

@rojaviv I moved it to the DONE category since there is already a way to:
determine if a key is already assigned,
by searching for it in
PreferencesSettings. -
@pesala said in Shortcut to Keyboard Shortcuts:
Preferences
I think I know what you meant, but is there a menu item 'Preferences' ? I dont see it !
-
@rojaviv Old habits die hard. It's preferences in Opera 12.18
Even the default shortcut is the same as in Opera 12.18 = Alt+P which suggests Preferences rather than Settings.

@pesala Know exactly what u mean...wish all these apps would decide & come together on whether to use Edit or Settings or Tool etc etc etc just to set Prefs/Options/Customize
