Load Previous and Next Pages in New Tab
-
When right-clicking the back and forward buttons up in the left corner, we can click and open one specific page instead of clicking one of the back and forward buttons many times. Sometimes I want to open one of those pages in a new tab, preferably in the foreground and simply by clicking the middle mouse button. I like that we can click the middle mouse button directly on one of the back and forward buttons, but sometimes I need to go back or forward more than one page.
I miss it from Firefox, where it is possible.

@ashtar Right click the back or forward button and then right click the entry you want to go to. This will open the page in a new foreground tab. At least on macOS.

@ashtar
Right-click on the entry opens it in a new foreground tab in Windows too.If you want to copy the tab history too, right-click on the tab and use Clone Tab.FYI: Long click, or click and drag, on the Back/Forward buttons also opens the tab history list.

Thank you for the replies, but right-clicking the entries after right-clicking the navigation (arrow/back and forward) buttons does the same for me as left-clicking: it merely brings me to the page in the same tab.

@ashtar What operating system are you using and are you on stable or snapshot?
-
@luetage I am using Windows 10 (64-bit). Regular, newest stable version of Vivaldi.
-
@ashtar Maybe this was introduced in the current series of snapshot releases, in this case the functionality already exists and you will just have to wait for the next stable release.

I am now using the latest Snapshot version. Now the entries always open in a new tab, even if left-clicking them. Is this supposed to be? Will someone please reproduce and report this? I think it would be better to be able to open it in the current tab with the left mouse button. The article from my link above implies that only the middle mouse button will open a new tab.

I am not able to reproduce it. In the latest Snapshot, left and right mouse both open in the current tab. My middle-mouse button is dodgy, so I cannot get it to do anything on the forward/back history.
Specs: AMD A10-6800K, 8 Gb on Win 10 64-bit build 17134.320 • Snapshot 2.2.1373.4 (64-bit)

@pesala Do you have any idea why all my mouse buttons open a new tab?
-
@ashtar You are using the word "entries." What are the "entries" you are clicking on?
-
@ayespy One of these three:
