Reorder groups in Quick Commands and address field (omnibox) dropdown
-
It is possible to exclude some groups from the box, but when all of the groups are enabled "current tabs" are before "commands"?
Users should be able to change the order of groups that appear inside Quick Command
I just like to have "commands" on the beginning of the list.
Same thing about order of groups that appear inside the address field dropdown list
//MODEDIT: marked as done, request for a similar feature in the address bar split into another thread

Hi everybody!
The topic might sounds scary but there is nothing to fear!
I am a huge fan of quick commands in Vivaldi, but one thing could be done better (in my opinion).
Right now when we search something in QC we need to navigate through results by using mouse/arrow keys to reach something that we interested in. On the top is always search results, which is a bit nonsensical to me, because by default Vivaldi settings this is the third place where I can do search (Address Bar, Search Bar, Quick Commands). Why? Ctrl+L/Cmd+L to reach the URL field is enough for a search request.
If search here is important, why not make it work like in the URL bar? (i.e. "g apples" to search for "apples" in Google).
QC should select the most related thing to searched text - i.e.
- When I write "downpan" it will select "Download Panel".
- "toggl" will select my opened tab/bookmark/history for toggl website, "toggle" for toggle UI, "toggle R" for toggle reader view, etc.
I believe that this feature will then be a more efficient way of using this wonderful browser
English is not my native, so I'm kindly sorry if I made some weird mistakes (I'm still learning).
Peace!
Mod Edit: To improve the English

This works there.

@potmeklecbohdan I think this FR is more along the lines of "Only show the search item if a search keyword is used"
-
Oh. Right. But still - I don't see sense to put search command on top of results.
Edit:
Just like @LonM said

I think your false expectations come from the naming of the feature as "Quick Commands." If you disable all of the other options in Settings, then that does become its primary function.
As soon as you get an exact match to a command name, the command will be focused.
Before a match is found, a default search for your typed term will be the result. Keyword searches in the Quick Commands dialogue already work.

For your reference - the feature request to reorder groups in Quick Commands is filed under VB-20644.
I do not see an issue for changing order of groups in the address field - you may wish to file one. If you care enough. -
Would be also interesting to use 2 columns for no-url groups ?

It's been possible to reorder sections in Quick Commands for a while now (Settings > Quick Commands > Search Types and Priority).
It's not possible to do the same in the Address Field yet. -
