Make the Vivaldi menu disappear when clicking on the menu button for a second time
-
@hlehyaric I misspelled her name. Ashtar was right about the GwenDragon I did mention... Ooooops!
-
-
@ornorm would still be a Windows specific change/problem (unless MacOS behaves equally).
Stable and snapshot for Linux at least do menu toggle correctly (in native as well as chromy window mode). -
@becm Thanks for this precision.
-
Thank you. I have now kindly asked the dragon to light my fire.
-
@ashtar So, read here about how to file a bug report and then file a bug for windows not turning off the menu with a second click. I have tested, and it works as expected for Linux, but not for Windows - so I would classify this as a bug, rather than a feature request. If you file the bug, I will confirm it internally, and it will get some attention.

To work around the issue, use mouse gestures.
- GestureLeft to go back
- GestureRight to go forward
- Rocker gesture: hold RMB and Click LMB to go back
- Rocker gesture: hold LMB and Click RMB to go forward
-
@ayespy Thank you. I now reported it.
-
@pesala Thank you. One of many useful features of Vivaldi. I am using a Dell mouse from 2003 with no extra buttons. You and the Vivaldi team just added back and forward buttons to my mouse.
I noticed that Rocker Gestures does not work on the Settings tab itself, though.
-
@ashtar Even the cursor keys don't work unfortunately, just Tab and Shift+Tab can be used for navigation in Settings. The Search field is very useful though.
-
@pesala We can navigate back and forth in the Settings tab by holding down the Alt key and pressing the left and right arrow keys.
-
This issue persists. In case someone cares, an easy way to make the menu disappear quickly is to simply use the mouse wheel to scroll. The menu disappears immediately and lets us click the navigation buttons.
-
@Ashtar This is helpful, thank you!
-
@VVivid Good to hear. You are welcome.
Yes, this makes it less annoying to misclick those arrows.
-
Another tip: enable the setting shown at the bottom of this screenshot. Especially useful for people using a mouse with no back and forward buttons.
