Could you please describe your issue?
-
@lamarca Apparently the misspelt text "ccasca" with the red underlining is not in the search field.
-
@pesala Ouch. You're right.
-
Sorry! We are not supposed to guess, we have to analyse the issue and provide a solution. I am aware it doesn't sound popular.......
-
@houqi Can't reproduce that here. Here's what you could try:
- Force reload the page and all of its contents including scripts, styles and images (by default: press
[CTRL]
+[SHIFT]
+[R]
or[CTRL]
+[F5]
); - Open the page in Private Window (by default: press
[CTRL]
+[SHIFT]
+[N]
to launch a new Private Window or select Menu > File > New Private Window). If the issue is gone in Private Window, then go to step 4. - Disable all extensions (if this resolves your issue, then try enabling them one by one to check which one is causing the trouble);
- Clear browsing data and restart the browser if necessary;
- Refresh your profile.
- Force reload the page and all of its contents including scripts, styles and images (by default: press

I had similar shift on my Fedora Linux desktop. It has gone after I switched off "Fedora User Agent" extension.
-
switching off "Fedora User Agent" extension worked for me too!

I also noticed this bug starting in 2.5, I thought AdBlock was the cause but it's still there after I removed it.
Current version is Vivaldi 2.5.1525.41, I think it started with the first version of 2.5. I only got 2 other extensions, ZenMate and Mailvelope, but they never caused this issue.
The bug also appears in a private window.

Having the same problem. I tried with all extensions disabled.
Steps to reproduce:- Open google.com
- text input is not at the right position
Vivaldi 2.5.1525.37 (64-Bit)
Windows 10 OS Build 18895.1000 -
I don't know why this was tagged as cannot reproduce. I managed on the first attempt by following the link to http://google.com
Specs: AMD A10-6800K, 8 Gb on Win 10 64-bit 1809 build 17763.475 • Snapshot 2.5.1525.37 (64-bit)

I have this issue too (Mac OS). I open bug VB-52819 at 08-may-2019.
-
I somehow fixed it with installing AdGuard AdBlocker. I also blocked the search suggestion box with it (because it somehow messes with your brain and makes your typing worse).
-
Actually same thing here with new installed Vivaldi.2.5.1525.41.
After blocking advertising on google using Adblock Plus and refresh (F5) it is gone until opening new tab with google inside.
First appearance of this "bug" was this week.

I had the same issue this week.
uBlock Origin 1.19.2 was the cause of the problem.
Disabling the adBlocker solved it.Maybe the developers from uBlock can fix it.
https://github.com/uBlockOrigin/uBlock-issues/issuesvivaldi : 2.5.1525.41
windows 10 64 bits -
@hendrikverhaar I am not using Adblock but I still see the issue.
Refreshing the page fixes the issue.
The address is then https://www.google.com instead of http://www.google.com

@houqi This "bug/website UA error" is mentioned in the blog for the 2.5 update
https://vivaldi.com/blog/minor-update-for-vivaldi-2-5/Fixes for the built-in spoofing of WhatsApp Web (to prevent blocking) and Google (to prevent occasional input box misalignment), will appear in a future update.
-
@TbGbe Then the thread should be tagged as FIXED
-
@Pesala But the spoofing will appear in a future update and not implemented yet!

My start page is www.google.co.nz and I experienced this problem. I looked at other browsers that were working correctly and changed my start page address to .. https://www.google.co.nz/?gws_rd=ssl and had no more problems. Also had varied success with .. www.google.co.nz/webhp
Worth a try
