Replying on topic is too slow with opening on new page should be like posting comments.Editing too.
Zooming bar too sensitive with circle control-Arrows(bigger for zoom up and opposite for zoom out or number pointed with same size) or + and - signs would be better.
Community,Blog,Forum etc. buttons should be on top of page and colored different to show you where you are in the momment. -
Here are few suggestion / features I would love to see in Vivaldi
1. Scrollable Tab Bar - Wrapping the Tabs to next line takes too much of screen estate (sic). Extender button is ugly.
2. URL only speed dial links. Thumbnails takes too much size on the disk. Or let the user control, whether they would like to have Thumbnails based Speed dial or URL based Speed dial.
3. Multi Thread download manager.
Will suggest more as and when, ideas come in the mind.
Thank you

-Site specific settings(Blocking cookies, disabling Javascript and so on)
-Bookmarks open in new tab, not in the one that happens to be open! And one click open/close folders and bookmarks in the side panel!
-Mouse tab switching (right click and scroll brings up a list of open tabs, even in Speed Dial)
-Set a custom search "provider" by just right clicking in any search field and selecting add to search providers.
-When right clicking//double clicking text you should be able to choose which search engine you want to use! Not just the default one.
-Notes, I'm guessing you might be working on this.If not, please add a menu with all your saved notes when a text edit field is right clicked!
-Being able to edit the top field of the browser, the one with the address and search bar. Like adding another search provider and put a progress and info tab(when hoovering over a link being able to see the address in the tab) there.
-Double clicking text shows right click menu.
-
- save web page as single file (mht) - critical!
- paste and go function to address bar
- unstack tabs via drag&drop as well as expand button (like in opera 12)
I basically want Vivaldi to be Opera Reborn and have every feature that Opera 12.17 had
- oh, and maybe a "speed dial" button (one of the few things that Opera 27 did right) next to the home button.
-
Ability to move address bar (and other interface elements) freely like in Opera12. At least, make it able to move to the bottom of the screen.

I agree with you at #3. As you can see, I also suggested that just 2 posts before
About bookmarks with middle mouse button, that's totally up to you. It solely depends on your mouse settings. I personally prefer my MMB to be the "Enter" key. But it may just as well be "F6" (for bookmarks), or any other key or combo macro.
But I really don't get what you meant to say at #1. I think I may get a).. is it that you would like to choose when you first open the browser if it should display the speed dial or the homepage directly? Because… that's just one click away, really. And I find the speed dial to be a much better way to open the browser because I may not want to open my homepage every time. But b) and c)... that's there already. -

as when Opera <12.x opened. Alternatively he is thinking about a setting for how the browser
should start up, like you have in Chrome. -
Hi mikewin,
Your request "Site specific settings(Blocking cookies, disabling Javascript and so on)" is already there, but surely missing few things like "user agent" settings, "on-demand plugin", "encoding" etc..
Just click "Site info" button in the address bar (at the start of address bar edit box)
Thanks

What I really miss since I had to quit using Opera due to instability and missing functionality:
-
Opening dialogue as in Opera <12.x.
-
Confirmation dialogue before closing the browser as in Opera <12.x.
-
Tab stacking as in Opera <12.x.
-
Add block as in Opera <12.x.
-
Mouse gestures as in Opera <12.x.
-
Easily being able to reopen closed tab(s) as in Opera <12.x.
-
Clicking link in bookmarks opens tab in new tab.
-
Keyboard shortcuts for "Paste and go" in URL bar / search bar as in Opera <12.x.
-
Preview of stacked tabs when hovering mouse over stacked tabs as in Opera <12.x.
-
Possibility to easily "unstack" stacked tabs. Both permanently and temporary as in Opera <12.x(?).
-
More intelligent Turbo / Boost / Off road compression: With this functionality enabled in Opera,
it was for example not possible to right click on a picture, and save it, if I remember correctly. -
Option when right clicking links to open new tab in background / foreground or new tab in a window
in the background / foreground. Possibly the same options in addition to open tab as "Incognito". -
Option to save an entire web page as complete / as single file / as PDF.
-
Better session manager: Opera have periodically crashed for me, with the result that the whole session
were lost!! I suspect I have also lost the entire session after getting corrupted files. There needs to be
a form of session backup. Either in "the sky", or with multiple backup session files. There should also
be possible to easily choose a previous session like in "Session Buddy" in Chrome. This could be linked
to the users Dropbox / Google Drive / One Drive acount. I guess this could be done easily by letting
the user choose where to store the session files. There would need to be a system to distinguish units
from each other so that the session for a users laptop does not get confused with the users
tablet or stationary computer and so on… There should be a setting for the user to choose how many
sessions that should be saved, and / or how long they should be saved. -
Setting to individually choose if sessions / bookmarks / speed dial / history and so on should be
synced / backed up between all units, of for just that unit: I use my different computers differently.
I would like my Speed dials, and my book marks to be synced, but I do not want my sessions to be
synced. That is, I would like the different sessions to be available on all of my units, but I would not
like them to be automatically synced in the way that when I close a session on one computer,
the same session opens next time I open the browser on another unit. -
If possible: Being able to use Chrome extensions. Look at Windows phone, There are MUCH less
apps for their OS due to their lack of market shares. Vivaldi could risk the same problem if you do
not go for compatibility with extensions for popular existing browsers. -
Multi thread download manger with possibility to pause, resume and restart downloads.
Preferably with the ability to download fragments of a file in parallel to increase speed.
Ability to mark several links on a web page for easy and simultaneous / queued download. -
Possibility to easily download video and pictures by right clicking.
Ref. "Blackholesun":
-
Automatic memory (RAM) cleaning (may be we are asking too much)
-
SemiAutomatic removal of duplicate bookmarks. Function to find them, dialogue to choose delete / keep.
Basically, I want Opera 12.x with stability and functionality, and added fail safes and functionality...
-
-
More MUST have features
1. "Fit to Width"
2. Automatic memory (RAM) cleaning (may be I am asking too much)
3. JavaScript Buttons
4. Automatic removal of duplicate bookmarks (again I guess it's bit too much)More requests later on
Thanks -

Point 1:
Now when you start the browser, it starts with the session when it was closed. If there were 10 open tabs, when you restart again those 10 tabs.
I would like the ability to choose when you start the browser, with what has to start, how it works on other browsers.Point 2:
In "Speed Dial" if I click with the middle button on a bookmark, it opens in a new tab. If I do the same thing in the "Panel of Bookmarks", on a Bookmark nothing happens, but if I do it on a folder works correctly.Point 3:
Was to reiterate that it is a useful thing. -
Yes, sometimes it happens.
-
It would be nice to have a CardDAV adressbook, so you can use
one adressbook (e.g. owncloud) for all your devices. -

+1
I like the above suggestion
-
4. Automatic removal of duplicate bookmarks (again I guess it's bit too much)
Sorry.
-1
I sometimes intentionally store the same bookmark in multiple locations. I'd not like to see the above suggestion.
Opera 12.17 doesn't like to let the user bookmark the same URL twice but I found a way to circumvent its' warning. I'd like Vivaldi to let us bookmark the same URL as many times as we choose. Choice being the operative word.

Will Vivaldi have Unite? This was in old Opera before it was retired. I love this feature even though I didn't use it much. I enjoyed being able to create a file server on pc when I need it
