Are you saying that the order changes every time you restart Vivaldi?
This post seems to confirm that, which would be a nuisance, even with only seven buttons.
I am sure that the feature request is already known, but if the buttons don't stay in the same order as the order of installing the extensions, then there's nothing that you can do at the moment.

bad. waiting setting for it.
nice dublicate :C -
I still have this problem, latest Vivaldi version. And I have it for long time now.
Cannot explain what triggers it, maybe just pure browser restart. It does not happen all the time, just randomly.Extension icons are: uBlock origin, Google Translate, Kaspersky (not active), Lastpass, Gmail.
Not so huge problem, drag and drop icons back on right place fast. But still would be nice to prevent this behaviour.

Hi @Gwen-Dragon, very possible.

Happens every time after update, because the extension gets disabled and enabled on update. Same happens when you disable/enable manually, position isn't kept.

Here is info from other topic. I noticed those problems come with bird on black background. Vivaldi crash due to low RAM, or something similar.

Small update:
- After I bought new RAM stick no more problems with extensions losing settings. And that extensions think they are just installed over and over again.
- Problem with icons shuffle is still here, I experience it almost every day. (So RAM can I exclude)
Second, "reinstall" of extensions was happening when Task Manager reported at least 20% RAM free. Together with this black bird error, tipical sign of lack of RAM.
So it is still one huge enigma for me.Not like it is apocalypse. Pick one icon with mouse and drag it back on place. (Google mail checker and LastPass icons change place. They somehow fight who will be last in order, right.)
Still would be nice not to be bothered with ih, does not look professional. -
