Crash fixes – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 2.0.1303.3
-
Still cant watch any video in Vivaldi rpm for Linux x64 with basic ffmpeg (no proprietary). Browser launched from terminal show me that h264 is not supported but when I visit any website with detection h264 - it show that h264 is available (like youtube.com/html5).
Every time when I open video for example on youtube - all videos fail to play (I see window with dead bird). -
@angrypenguin: Could you start Vivaldi like so and as soon as it launches, shut it down, then put the log on pastebin or something and link it from here:
bash -x /opt/vivaldi-snapshot/vivaldi-snapshot > /tmp/startup-vivaldi.log 2>&1
-
Thanks for the fixes. @LonM We try this.
-
@angrypenguin: Ok, I can reproduce
-
@ruario: Don't worry about "show that h264 is available (like youtube.com/html5)". This does not matter
-
@ruario: Sure. Here: https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/gkMybN5cP9/
-
@gwen-dragon: Read again. All the tests say
"NO = NO"
, none of them are being preloaded. Also I can see the issue now. AngryPenguin is correct about the crash.P.S. Youtube thinking we support h.264 is a minor issue though as we provably do not
-
@gwen-dragon: This does not matter
-
Issue continue:
After start Vivaldi show login page to Chrome. Ok log in now, but after restart show login page to Chrome again, again... Its very frustrating. Vivaldi doesn't remember login data to Chrome. (linux and Win10).
-
And still I get tab crashes on:

@bib_vivaldi: What triggers the crash? Can you report a bug with details? Thanks.
-
@jon: It's an animation near the bottom of the page, telling you the difference in the hurricane categories.
I tend to get a lot of...

Thanks for this new build!
When I want to change the Options in the Inoreader Addon Vivaldi still crashes .. -
@jagdishf: Please report a bug in the bug tracking system on this so we can have a closer look. Thanks.
-
@naith_cz: Please report a bug on this. I am not seeing this myself so we will need some details.
-
No crashes on closing a tab so far.
But I did get a crash while using Find in Page (F3).
-
After excessive using Vivaldi last 6 hours now it crashes first time while closing a tab
-
@megaboom that's unfortunate but it's really way better than before, in the previous latest snapshots I had a Vivaldi crash when closing tabs every 20 minutes, as I am not a tab hoarder and open/close tabs regularly after visiting a site, in reports\ directory I could find hundreds of files every day, indicating each time a tab or whole Vivaldi crashed.
I have not had a single crash in 24 hours now, and I can tell the fix works for me. -
I still have constant crashes on startup.

@ovalseven Unfortunately, no one can reproduce this, under any conditions. Your situation is unique, and reliant on some local factors that no one else has.
