Synchronisation over proxy.

Does the synchronisation is working over proxy?
If I am trying to log in to synchronisation Vivaldi answer "Proxy authentication Required". Is there any way to fix it? -
Sorry, but I did not find it by search. Thanks for answer.

Hi there!
Any updates on this? I'm using the latest stable (1.15.1147.64) on my work PC and enabled Sync under vivaldi://experiments and I'm also getting a "Proxy authentication Required" error.
I'm not sure if any of the snapshots fixes this already but I don't really want to install that build on my work PC.
Thanks!

@gwen-dragon I'm not sure. All I know is that the company network is behind a proxy (or at least all end-users need to enter their credentials to access the internet via a browser). So everytime I need to browse something on the internet the browser prompts me to input a username and password which I do. I just assumed Sync will use the same credentials to gain internet access.

More precisely, I need to know the type of proxy that is being used ( HTTP, SOCKS4, SOCKS5, transparent ) and what sort of authentication it uses if any. The name of the actual proxy software is helpful as well.

@julien_picalausa I doubt our network admin will freely give that kind of information. I'll still try though. But for the protocol based on my internet settings it is HTTP, Secure, FTP. Not sure if that is what you want but I heard they usually use HTTP. All our Windows authentication is handled by Active Directory AFAIK.

I'm aware of both an HTTP proxy and a SOCKS5 proxy using the company's Active Directory credentials to obtain an auth token to authenticate to the proxy. Don't know the names, but they were acquired by Symantec a couple years ago. These use cases are large, because there's 1000's of users behind the proxy.

@julien_picalausa I had a talk with our network security admin. All he can say was the company uses a Cisco proxy thru HTTP/S protocol. Credentials uses Active Directory.

@julien_picalausa Awesome. Goodluck!

@batmaster
I have authenticated proxy (squid) at work. All I had to do, was to set in Windows Proxy settings to not use proxy for 2 servers and sync started to work:
*.vivaldi.com;*.vivaldi.net (use asterisk before .vivaldi, this forum is not accepting it)//MODEDIT: Added backslashes before asterisks to make them appear. This forum uses Markdown for text formatting and Markdown uses asterisks as its syntax, hence the need of additional characters (backslashes in this case). For more information about Markdown, visit this page.

I just completed a series of fixes making sync able to deal with authenticated proxies. If nothing goes wrong, it should make it to stable in the coming weeks.
