Number Keys + Zooming
-
Hi all, Another newb here, so forgive me if this has been addressed elsewhere and point me to the right thread. While visiting speednest.net I noticed that trying to enter numbers into their form fields resulted in zooming in or out on the page...not text entry. While this appears to be a valid shortcut function on other site pages, it's certainly a problem on those sites that still rely on flash. Alternatively, I may be the only person running into that problem. Thoughts?

No, I also have a problem when entering numbers into new Google+ posts or when chatting in Hangouts from Inbox. When I try to backspace it returns to the previous page as if I hit the back button. Also, when I try to input numbers from the number row it switches tabs instead of just entering the text. This makes it near impossible to use these sites.

Sorry about that. We have a fix in the works. Single key keyboard shortcuts are really powerful and fast, but there are bugs now where they are triggered when they should not be. Fix in the next update.

jon, hi! How often Vivaldi updates (nightly, weekly, monthly, etc.) will be published to open testing?

The goal is to have weekly builds, but only if we have something to share and we have not broken everything.
In addition to that we will have more formal builds. This means that you can choose have adventurous you want to be. You can get the weeklies and basically have what we have or you can wait for slightly more tested builds. In any case you can expect a lot of bug fixes, new features and more polished features. -

Is there a specific day of the week that we should look for the weekly builds to be released?

I do not want to promise a certain day at this time. We are getting routines done. Soon.

I wish for Friday snapshots like good old days

So, how can we "check for updates"?

I'm sure that the Opera tradition of alphas and betas more solid than most of competitor's "releases" will be keept here.
Thanks for what you did @opera, thanks for what you're doing here right now.

Try to take this with "Gestures" - seems to be similar.
It is really bad in password fields - if you use 12345 as part of the password - you jump to pane 1,2,3,4,5.
Create a button, "no gestures" (and whatever else of shortcuts, including CMND and Fn) . Both Ctrl+C and Ctrl+D should be possible to type as part of the password, and certainly all regular characters, space, numbers and signs.
If you can respond with "*" for each password character this would be nice, but its more important to be able to log-in. -
