Open Bookmarks Bar Folders on Mouse Hover
-
Not a duplicate. In the topic Open subsequent it says about the standard functionality. I'm talking about additional functionality - open the folder without a single clicking - only by mouse hover. Without clicking, not only the second folder is opened, but also the first one.
-
@bratetsvolk OK. Understood. I removed the duplicate tag and added some others.

That would be a very cool function indeed. Voted up.

I say it, I prefer using a click to activate the first scroll of the folder and then allowing hovering like in Firefox now. I think it's boring to see the menu automatically shows when you move your mouse to reach a tab or write into the bar address, and this is common when the bookmark bar is full (contrary to the gif). But (that's why I also upvote the current feature) , I think that adding a light timer before the first hovering scrolling could make this idea even better than the singleclick solution : it'd be a mixed between the both solution, the better from the both ?
Thinking more about that, both solution, including the timer adding, could simultaneous be : the singleclick would only accelerate the processus.

@seasonly I currently already use this feature in Firefox, and note that in the daily work of auto-opening folders is not a hindrance, because when the cursor leaves the folder, she closes immediately.
In the extension settings for F is such a setting as you wrote. So you can adjust the opening of the folder not instantly, but more smoothly.

I think I might be annoyed by it, but others may like it, so I upvoted it anyway. If there was an option to set the delay that would also delay the opening of subfolders. Only open folders when approaching from below would help.

@bratetsvolk
So I'm going to try this... -
@seasonly
Well the extension is not compatible with the last firefox versions again !!!!! -
I want to precise that I support only the idea that the delay is to replace the singleclick for first focus activation and not for all the next hovering folders or subfolders. Then these will not need any delay. This is like we do with single click solution where this click drop the focus on the bar address and then hovering automatically opens others with no more click, no more delay.
-
@seasonly About the no-delay of the subfolders, I agree.
To run the extension, you need to use the esr version:
https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all/#legacyBecause as you know, the new version doesn't support many exts.

@bratetsvolk Thanks but, about me, I don't think I'm getting back.

Hello,
I couldn't download the esr version, so I gave up. My antivirus was going mad (not allowing me to download it) and it just created a mess - everything froze at once and I had to complete a hard reset. -
@leewalker Hello.
It is not necessary to download a esr version. You can download a standart one, no higher than 56.0. Here are the link for en-us.
It`s official Mozilla sites:
https://download-installer.cdn.mozilla.net/pub/firefox/releases/56.0.2/win32/en-US/Firefox Setup 56.0.2.exeIf you need different lang, go to this link and choose folder what you need:
https://download-installer.cdn.mozilla.net/pub/firefox/releases/56.0.2/win32/Add-on unavailable on official Mozilla-addons site, so use this link:
https://legacycollector.org/firefox-addons/480057/index.htmlAbout antivirus. In Mozilla url`s most likely are no viruses. So you can turn it off.
But from legacycollector.org you need to install with the antivirus On (if you want max protection). -

Hello,
