Vivaldi for mac OS X feedback

icon (close) on the tabs configurable. By that I mean being able to choose whether it appears on the left or the right side of the tab. I'm always on a mac at work, but at home I mostly use Linux Mint and Windows 7. The new Opera has tab close icons on the left on a mac and on the right on Windows/KDE - this is amazingly annoying because when I'm at work I keep accidentally closing tabs that I want to select - I just aim at the wrong side of it. It is so annoying to the point where Cmd+Shift+T is currently my most often used shortcut in os x. And the worst thing is - when you are not hovering over the tab - it displays the favicon image in the place of the close icon! So I aim for the icon but when I'm there to click it - it changes to the [close tab] cross. Aghh! A definite productivity killer is having to remember which side the close icon is on before clicking it. Both Chrome an Firefox keep these icons on the right across all the systems, a lot of people who only use macs generally don't like it and prefer to have them on the left and that's understandable. But in the spirit of good old Opera - it would be amazing if you could make those configurable. 3) THIS APPLIES TO ALL OSes: You know how both Chrome and new Opera have that handy 'Close all tabs to the right' option when you right-click on a tab. I have been asking them both for years to add the opposite version of this feature (basically a 'close all tabs to the LEFT of the current one') For example I often find myself in a situation where I have 15+ tabs open and the ones on the left grow 'old and stale' - they are just sitting there cause I was opening new tabs and doing things on the right side. Closing the unused tabs on the left side one by one is annoying and maybe that's why I currently have 24 tabs open but actually am only using the last 3 on the right side. I can't even explain how useful a 'close all tabs to the left' would be, I would switch immediately to the browser that implements this and force-switch all my family and friends as well  That is all for now. Keep up the great work and thank you again! -
I agree with 1). is very annoying to not be able to maximize the window!

I agree, and another issue that I am experiencing is when I manually resize the window to be full size, close Vivaldi, and reopen it, Vivaldi shows an almost entirely white screen with all of the features squished into the top left corner. To get out of this state, I have to resize to smaller, close, and reopen again.

Yep, confirmed, have the same issue (2560 x 1440 screen):
-
- Pressing the (+) icon should not send the browser to full screen mode, but rather resize the window to fit the whole screen
But, I thought that what should happen since Yosemite (Mac OS 10.10.x). Before Yosemite, the green (+) button maximized the window, but since Yosemite, that button makes the window full-screen (if the application supports it). If you want the old behavior, you click on the green button while pressing down the "Option (alt)" key.
So, pressing the green (+) button sending the browser to full screen mode is at least consistent with the latest default behavior. What's the problem is actually the lack of the feature of the Option-click maximizing the window.
Some applications have the opposite problem: for example, Adobe Reader doesn't go to the full screen mode on clicking on the green button, even on Yosemite.
Regards,

I'm puzzled. Toggle Full Screen seems to work fine for me in the latest version of Yosemite.
Most all of my work in Vivaldi so far is fine. I couldn't access a small window on another forum, but everything else looks good. For a preview release, I'm impressed. I'd like a personal bar on top of the window for my bookmarks and the usual extensions, but this is really promising.

Hello. I found out about your product on TechCrunch and decided to download it. It has a great looking interface, especially on a MacBook Pro. I noticed something though; the video applet on chrome was larger than the video applet on your browser. I thought you'd like to know that. I understand this is a Beta, but want to help. Lets do this.

Same site. 100% on each browser. 2nd screen shot was taken 10 seconds after the 1st one.

Hey guys,
This is my first day with Vivaldi browser and here is what I think.
1. The color changing as per the webpage is really nice. Please keep it.
2. Fullscreen/Maximise option should be fixed. (previously mentioned already as I can see)
3. How do I use Tab Stacks? I could not find this information easily. Please put it out in the open. Make Tab Stacks more easy. Currently it is not so fast.
4. Tab switching with keyboard shortcut keys (command + 3,4 by default) is really slow. It looks like it's taking time to activate.
5. Command - Zooms out but command + does nothing.
6. Please bring the gesture - 2 fingers swipe to navigate page forward and backward - like in Safari and Chrome
7. Master password would be handy.
8. Tab hovering preview is not available when the tabs are set to be at the bottom.
9. Can't select ctrl+tab for tab switching under keyboard shortcuts.
10. The new tab page is really nice. That's it for now guys. Hope they help for your endeavour to build a great browser. I'll be sending in more feedback.
Vivaldi is my default browser for now. I intend to keep it that way. Please throw support packs and bug fixes and we will be rocking!

A few bugs I've noticed so far:
-CMD+L doesn't always focus the address bar. I can't tell why it works sometimes and why it doesn't work other times, there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it.
- Tab switching using keyboard shortcuts (cmd+3 and cmd+4) doesn't work when a tab is loading.
-CMD+click on a speed dial entry does not open it in a new tab, but rather in the same tab.
-
It seems to me like CMD+L focuses on the adress bar on the tab to the far right no matter which tab is currently active.
If you are in another tab you can press CMD+L, type an URL and press enter, and the tab to the right will navigate there. without making it the active tab.

When trying to enter a password, Vivaldi tech preview crashes. This applies when trying to activate this account, Gmail password, retail shop password.
Small thing, the menu entry "Help | About" produced the following, while menu "Vivaldi | About Vivaldi" does nothing.

In Opera 12.15 and in the current version if you enable the advanced keyboard shortcuts; the period key becomes the "Search Short cut"
I tried setting this this in Vivaldi by modifying "Command + F" but it displays 3/4 and the short does not work.

Hi,
a few things I loved in previous versions of Opera that are sadly gone and hopefully will be in Vivaldi:
1, ctrl+Z (or cmd+Z) to reopen the tab you just closed by mistake
2, customisation of the Speed Dial - I want more than just 4 sites in one row, this for me is one of the reasons the latest Opera update sucks so much (and the fact that it's now taking up like 50% of my CPU), I like my Speed Dial my way, thank you very much
3, tab browsing - I often need to switch between just two tabs, would be nice to be able to do that (they aren't necessarily next to each other), it used to be possible with ctrl+tab
4, mouse gestures - swiping forward and backward
5, I'd prefer maximise for the green button in the corner.
6, I preferred the system where if you clicked close on the last tab a new blank tab (or speed dial) opened instead of closing the whole browser. That's all for now Good luck!

A very annoying bug:
When we type some number or character in some kind of textarea (ex: google hangout, inside gmail), the key is applied to browser context. For example, if we press "1", the browser switches to first tab.

A very annoying bug, its occurs only in some textarea/inputs (ex: google hangout, inside gmail)
When we type some key that has a shortcut, the key is applied to browser context and trigger the shortcut. For example, if we press "1" in input, the browser switches to first tab.

Hi,
Some small bug: I've got a 0 appearing in Preferences just behind "Vie privée" (I'm a frensh user..)
And is it possible to have the possibility to not go in a new tab (add this option in the preferences window?)Thanks.

Hi,
- The standard behavior of double clicking the top bar in Yosemite maximize the window. Vivaldi gets minimized.
- When i close the last tab Vivaldi should open a speed dial tab

- Mouse gestures please
Thanks
-
Another problem, at least for me, when I close Vivaldi and open it again all opened tabs are gone…
-
Can’t for the life of me find a proper bug report form anywhere. Is this feedback thread really all there is?
Anyway.
1.0.98.2 Build-Specific Bugs (Things that worked already in 1.0.94.2):
-
Can't add Search Engines (neither in Menu/Settings nor in context Menu “Add As Search Engine”)
-
In search fields on certain websites, Vivaldi interprets input as commands, e.g.:
www.librarything.com/ (site search as well as search within own library)
Cheers,
J.
