Thank you for the continued efforts to make a terrific browser even more terrific!

Looks great
-
Updating and relaunch were extremely fast, but the old application folder was not deleted.
I had to manually terminate Vivaldi installer and updater processes then I could delete it manually. .
I had only just enabled Notify about Update, but checked manually to get the update.

[UI] New tab input field locked with about:blank (VB-35016)
Confirmed working now. At last, thanks for fixing this. -
@pesala: it usually gets deleted on 2nd relaunch of vivaldi if on 1st relaunch doesn't succeed.
-
F11 on Two Monitors
Not sure if this is new, but I don't remember seeing it before.
F11 enters fullscreen on one monitor, while the Vivaldi window on the other monitor enters Chromeless Mode (Toggle UI).
Toggle UI (Ctrl+F11) affects both Vivaldi windows the same.

Are you planning on skipping Chr67 too ?
-
@cqoicebordel No. That's not the plan. It's just that the security fixes should not be delayed.
-
@cqoicebordel 67 is the current stable chromium release, 68 beta was released last week. Seems like to me as if skipping 67 would only be natural. And why not? What features do you need right now from 66 and 67? From what I've read it's payment handlers and progressive web app updates...
-
@luetage I suppose anything is possible, but some of us are testing a pre-alpha on 67. Seems like a waste of effort if there will be no release on it.
-
Lovin' it! Always impressed at the level of attention to fixes and features from the V team. Priorities are in the right place.
-
@ayespy: That's what I thought too, but the situation is strange :
*Release with Chr67 must be released asap, for security reasons on stable.- Snapshot usage, I'm guessing, is marginal compared to stable.
So why backport those fixes to snapshot, and not stable and why spend time on backporting when Chr67 is coming.
The only scenario that make sense is that they will be really late with Chr67 (like, at least a month), and they want us to test in the snapshots if those backported fixes work. But since we don't know what exactly those fixes are, we can't really test them.
So, yeah, the situation feels strange.

@cqoicebordel I believe the Stable backport is coming as well.
-
@pesala: it is like that since introduction of Toggle UI. I've already ranted about that somewhere
-
Still no focusing wrong window after clicking a link in external application? I hoped to see it this time
-
Know what I would find really neat? If the message saying the file had been downloaded could be displayed somewhere near where one clicked on the link for the download. I clicked, and then suddenly thought Hang on, bottom right you idiot! I was just in time, but it isn't always that way. I am, of course, aged (plus it's very very late [02:47 here] due to a major deadline). (And I'm winding down after delivering!
Oh yes: Thanks to all of you, both Workers (perhaps even executives) and all other Posters. -

This is something I would like to see fixed as well. I'm still a luddite of sorts in that I prefer an actual email client compared to a webmail interface, since I have several different accounts. While hardly the end of the world, it is annoying to have to go back and manually select the right window every time I click on a link in an email.

Regression: if "Alt key for main menu" is unchecked, and Vivaldi button menu is selected instead of Horizontal menu, the menu button doesn't react anymore even with mouse or keyboard shortcut (alt-F)
Can anyone confirm so I can add a bugreport?
Win7 32bit here. -
@ian-coog Confirmed. No surprise that the Alt key does not work, but the mouse obviously should.
This change should never have been made in the first place. Alt key is the standard for the menus.
The fix that is needed is for Shift+Alt not to open the menu. Alt+Shift already does not open the menu if done in that order.
