@adrien_d There is no public bug-list
Why ?
-
@adrien_d The founder has chosen over the last several decades not to deal with public bug lists. One of the reasons at the moment is that the very small team is not adequate to maintain one. Another is that such lists, especially given a community with such active user participation and feedback, tend to generate more queries than they answer, and can even become the subject of flame wars over why certain bugs do or don't have priority.
In your case, your bug was closed as being a duplicate of an earlier report, and that bug, 39450, was reported fixed at the top of this blog entry: "[Regression] Crash on attempt to open links from external apps and having extensions that listen to chrome.tabs updates installed (VB-39450)"
-
@raed Later in the day, I noticed folders with no favicons in them. Click on any bookmark and all of the favicons come back. All of them at once. It's a bit odd. I'll report it.
-
nevermind, works for me
-
Hmmm soo curious will the next snapshot be a 1.16 or a 2.0 ??? If the latter ... will it be with M3 ???
-
@burbuja: We also have a hamburger icon if you'd prefer that. (in the appearance settings)
-
@pesala: Is this something new?
It is very misleading. Or at least, this option should be regarded only if the new tab actually has contents. I am opening an "emtpy" tab. It makes no sense. The address bar should be in focus by default. And that is actually how it used to be. -
Vivaldi still crashes randomly when opening developer tools (via inspect element or F12) on linux.
-
@braykov No. It's not new. I just did a fresh install of 1.14 and found that it is disabled by default, so the URL field gets focus by default, unless you enable the setting.
A new tab does have content, assuming that it is Speed Dial tab.
-
@noaidee: what is M3?
-
@rtransformation Vivaldi's mail client.
-
Crashing whole browser while closing second browser window is still not fixed (VB-39022). I'm afraid you're going to release "stable" with such serious bug...

@adrien_d Please read https://vivaldi.com/blog/a-bugs-life/
thanks

Win 10 64 Bit Viv 64
Thanks past couple of SS loads a LOT faster.
-
@burbuja Thanks
-
No thanks from me. This snapshot is slow, not responsive. IOW, it's terrible. Click on an open tab...nothing. Try to close a tab...nothing. Try to close V...nada. Tried to download this snapshot to save...forget it.
Why download the full snapshot? I want to create a stand-alone without any extensions, bookmarks, etc.
Now that I know how to create a stand-alone I thought it would be nice to have an "empty" browser for testing purposes. You know, like now, to test my issues. -
@para-noid Thanks for your comment, but nothing here helps anyone to diagnose or fix your problems. Your bitterness is not a tool for the developers to employ.
Here, my snapshot is working famously, quickly, responsive, smooth, renders everything, etc. And it's not clean. It's been updated, snapshot on top of snapshot, for going on a couple of years, now.
So, let's see - what could be causing the difference between your experience and mine? Oh, that's right. There is no way for me to tell. Anything you can tell us about your platform, hardware, settings, 3rd-party applications like security software or other apps that plug in to your overall platform to affect your user experience, whether you have tried enabling or disabling things like hardware acceleration, etc. - all of these things can help to build a picture of what might be going on at your end, that the developers could have some impact on at their end.
-
@para-noid I am also unable to account for why you would have trouble downloading a clean copy of the snapshot. Something geographic? a VPN? A national internet monitor? A bad router? Compromised local internet service?
Here, the entire snapshot downloads in about 19 seconds. Perhaps you should reset your internet connection and try again.
-
@ayespy Yeah, there were three things screwing up the download.
-
This one is on Vivaldi. On the Blog page in the upper right hand quadrant there are two download links. One is for the stable the other, directly below it is the snapshot link. The stable link worked to perfection. Not the snapshot.
-
This one is on on me. The "active" snapshot link is at the top of the blog article. I didn't even try that one.
-
This one is also on me. I didn't think about resetting my interweb connection. This one is what actually fixed everything.
Sorry about the attitude. But after trying five different browsers and nothing working frustration has a nasty habit of setting in. I now have a "naked" snapshot standalone just for testing.
@Ayespy Thanks for the tip. Again sorry for the attitude. PEBKAC is a very real condition.

@mozzer No crash here.
