Lazy loading fix – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1.15.1147.21
-
@mikefield No progress on this, as a developer was not able to reproduce it. Neither was I, initially. But now I have reproduced it and have re-opened the bug in the internal bug tracker.

@retoree I've edited my earlier post to clarify it seems to have been the solution for me, but not necessarily others also experiencing the symptom ... eg those like you who don't even use that extension.
I agree that rebuilding one's profile can be a major PITA. For those who run a nearly standard out of the box Vivaldi, ie, don't use extensions, don't add lots of Web Panels, don't keep a suite of permanently stacked pinned tabs, don't use or care about configured Autofills & Passwords, Custom Dictionary, don't mind losing History & Favicons, don't have a large number of speeddials with thumbnails that need recreation via F5 with all the crashes that causes, yada yada, then building a new clean profile is painless & fast. None of that applies to me though, & hence each time i am faced with rebuilding my profile i have to think carefully & take a deep breath, knowing it will burn several hours.
Nevertheless, i do respectfully suggest that you do at least test your problem in a clean profile. If it continues then you know there's no point proceeding, & so just revert to current profile. If however the clean profile works correctly, you then have the decision to make...

Very big problem.
I am very angry and tired.
I open a new browser window and the old one closes.Очень большая проблема.
Я очень зол и устал.
Я открываю новое окно браузера а старое само закрывается. -
Not wanting to be rude, far from it, but sometimes certain comments annoys me a bit, some comments from users show irration, irritation and irritation with the browser, some forget that this is in beta, so it is normal to have certain problems, if you do not want to have problems etc, use the final version.
I do not understand almost anything about software development, but I believe the project only goes ahead if users using the beta phase help with constructive comments, show anger etc will not help ... -
@juniorsilva30 Be careful! The PC brigade may blame you for blaming the blameworthy. Too many entitled users of this free software threaten to leave if their pet features or bug fixes are not implemented at once.
If anyone encounters a bug, please help the developers by submitting a Bug Report

@paul1149
Exactly the same issue i have it too. Windows 10 X64 here and whenever i open an external link with browser already open, it close it then open it again JUST with the external link. Is annoying as heck and for example here, it makes me lose all the progress made in certain things, but i have faith in the team behind this browser and patiently waiting for this issue to be fixed -
@juniorsilva30 Trust me i do know really well that is in beta, but in like 1 year since i use Snapshot versions as main browser this bug is the worse i'we encountered. There we're others like panel not disappearing in full video mode but that was minor like barely visible. And software development is based on feedback and testing and more testing done internally + trying to reproduce internally the bug/s that was reported, in almost same situation of usage.

@serket Is the close window, or the closed tabs, available on the Trash Can menu?
-
@ayespy Many thanks to reproduce the fault and reopen the bug in the bug tracker.
What would we do without you and your very dedicated Moderators! Great Job!Just have a hint to this bug:
The dialog "Your connection is not private" will be shown then if the browser window is resized.
This could be done with open or close a panel or resize the Vivaldi program window.
Hope that helps to isolate it.mf

@gwen-dragon: Reported as VB-39470

Sorting of the bookmark line is still buggy, since 1.15.1146.5. It initially sorts as expected but as soon as using it it suddenly resets back to manual with everything sorted in falling order (Z->A). I'm on the 64-bit windows version.
-
@sjudenim: It was fixed recently, but it's still not tested. There was lots of tries and discussions to fix it.
-
@slake: On Windows 8 it's working fine.

@pesala said in Lazy loading fix – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1.15.1147.21:

I haven't checked until now, but yes they are there.
-
@pezo: Same here, very irritating, no solution besides rolling back to older version.
-
@witcher I tried to do that on Windows but the installer said there was a newer version installed and did nothing. I'll just wait for a fix, don't fancy uninstalling and reinstalling just yet.

Thanks.
Not sure if this is related to the problems others are having with the cursor, but mine has been disappearing altogether (for awhile now not just this build), usually when watching videos on youtube. The only way to get it back is to leave the window, mousing over anything within the browser responds but with no cursor shown. Sometimes it shows as the text input cursor instead. This behaviour seems to be triggered when Vivaldi is under a heavy load.

@paul1149: me too, crashes when clicking a link in an other app, heard it's an old issue, but started with 1.15.1147.21 for me. crashes and reopen can also get rid of opened tabs, happened twice today (thank god for apple's time capsule backups!)
-
@benjad: I rolled back to the previous (.19 version) and it's working again
-
@sjudenim No problems with mouse disappearing but I don't watch much videos on the web.
