Fixes for recent problems with extensions – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1.15.1146.5

@rtransformation: They don't work when I open images on some pages.

Probably a stupid question but...
From this SS's changelog "Google Chat is not supported in Vivaldi (VB-39030)" - does that mean going forward it will not be supported? Or that it's been fixed (this SS fixed Google Hangouts for me!) - and most importantly does the V Team refer to Google Hangouts as Google Chat, or ?? I think Chat was deprecated a while back and part of it folded into Google Hangouts.
I would just like to understand this item on the changelog better since using Hangouts in Vivaldi is very important for my use case. I know one of the team/mods mentioned a kludge was in place to identify as Chrome instead of V.
Thank you Vivaldi Team - and for your continuing work on this most excellent browser!!

Developer tool "Audits" does not work for me.
Could you confirm it? -
@jimtdi It never stopped to work for me and the actual correct name is Hangouts.
-
The intergration extension for Free Download Manager (ID: ahmpjcflkgiildlgicmcieglgoilbfdp) is still broken in this version.

@ruario Thanks a lot!

Thanks for your reply @burbuja - Hangouts did stop working for me for the last 2 or 3 SSs before this one. I saw either in this forum, or on Reddit, others were having similar problems (maybe to do with their OS version of Vivaldi?) I'm on Linux so maybe that's part of it.
When I read the release notes, sometimes I get confused - I don't know if [Regression] bla bla bla - means the Vivaldi Team is saying an item is fixed, or if they're acknowledging it's broken in the SS the release notes are for. The particular note about Google Chat just said it was not supported - and I was wanting to clarify if that really meant "Chat" or "Hangouts". I really hope going forward Hangouts is still supported (or at least will work with Vivaldi).
I do realize it's called Hangouts (has been for a few years now) so I was puzzled about the reference to "Google Chat" in the release notes. Thanks again for your reply!

@gtj0 Do you have sample URLs? I've yet to see this.
Sure...
Open a new window and just leave it,,,$ vivaldi-snapshot &
Now open an app window...
$ vivaldi-snapshot --app=https://news.google.com &
Now click on any new link on the page and you get...
The existing content was replaced by the link target but only in the right half of the app window. There is no way to get back to the original app content and if you click a link again, you'll get the new content in the right quarter of the app window, etc.
What should have happened is that the link should have opened as a new tab in the main window. This stopped working with the last release of 1.14.
BTW... This is with a completely new profile with the only changes being the native windows and theme just to make the screenshots clearer.

@gtj0 I can verify that this happens. Please be kind enough to read this brief tutorial and file a bug report.

I filed a bug 2 months ago...
[Jira] (VB-37723) Links not opening in correct window with 1.14.1077 or 1.15.1099 -
@jimtdi
Hi Jim, sorry to disappoint as my comment addressed the issue a user had/has with Google chat not working.
And to me "less Google/FB/MS/Apple etc. pp" is always a welcome fact to me.
I understand that many primarily focus on the ease of use/convenience of these services but to me the trade off for that is way to big.
I tried to address potential criticism regarding my comment upfront by saying "Think of me what you want...", kind of making fun of myself. -

Sadly the regression with simultaneously closing normal window with private one is still included :(...

Just noticed a strange thing in Vivaldi. I realised that a WEB page did not seem to publish any new News. I did manual refresh (nothing new), cleared the cache and did another refresh. Still nothing new. I then opened the same URL in IE11 - BIG difference...
EDIT:
Found the Problem:

In fact I appreciated it. Just trying to clarify my situation with Hangouts, and hadn't seen a previous post in this thread about Chat, I must have missed it. As you point out, less is better, mostly.

Closing window exits whole browser (VB-39022) is still present. Similar bug was described on Japanese Forum.
I have not discovered any simple way to reproduce it yet. I am using several Vivaldi windows during a day (opening and closing new tabs, links etc.). After some time, closing one window closes whole browser.

If I hide the address bar, I can no longer move the window around by clicking on the title bar. This is on windows 10 64bit.
